Midnight Encounter

In the darkness of the night,
I saw something bright.
It's a thing, that can cut through any pain.
I held it in my hand, and thought,
Is this what I want or it's just what they taught.

As I was mesmerized by it's sharpness,
A hand held mine.
I can't see her, but I know she smiled.
She offer me the thing I wish, which is my happiness.
She grants it and switch my place.

A path appear beneath my feet,
A row of lights just like what I saw on street.
I could clearly see myself,
Walking to a path they create themselves.
A road full of torn is the place.

I want to be free.
Just like the birds, I want to be.

Along the way, I saw a rope,
It's old but it can still be of use.
As I pick it up it suddenly stood in front.
I was holding it but the setting switched.

I saw a girl holding the rope the same way I do.
A ring was on her throat,
And something was below her foot.
I want to scream her name, but I can't speak.

Then the light slowly fade,
But before the darkness get close,
I saw my eyes' reflection in fear.
Unaware of the old broken mirror appear,
The light of the road disappear.

A heavy feeling lingered in me.
As I finally see myself in the same scenery.
The light from the moon,
They reflect and bloom.
The mirror in my room,
With me inside, it looks my tomb.

The girl I saw hanging looks like me.
With pain and fear in her eyes, but finally free.
