Love Or Hate- A Tamber Story

       Today is Prom and honestly i'm like kinda nervous because this is the first time anyone will see me and Amber as a couple. None of our friends know, not even Sam knows but they will after tonight. But I am really glad I get to go with her.

     Amber comes over at 2 to get ready since we need to be at the school by 5. The prom is just in our school gym so it probably won't be that nice or fancy but I really don't care.

     Me and Amber our meeting our friends at 3 so we have 2 hours to actual get ready. We're all going to eat before prom.

     I lightly curl my hair and put on a some makeup. I put my dress on and make sure I look good. Amber straights her hair some and does some makeup, and puts her dress on.

     "You look pretty." Amber says as she walks over to me. "Why thank you, You don't look bad yourself." I say causing Amber to just roll her eyes before quickly connecting our lips.

     We head to Ambers car to go meet our friends. Of course Liv and Chad are going together and Mindy is going with Francis, nobody has seen Wes since he asked me to prom and I rejected him.

     Amber starts to drive as she places her hand on my thigh. "Are you okay? You seem nervous." She asks. "Yeah i'm fine." I say. "Tara what's wrong." Amber says. "I'm just kinda nervous, I mean nobody knows about us yet." I say quietly. "We can just act like friends if you want." Amber says in a disappointed tone. "No no I want them to know your my girlfriend, it's just nobody even knows i'm gay." I say. "It's gonna be okay. I'm here for you."Amber says as she gently rubs my inner thigh.

       We get to the restaurant that we agreed to meet or friends at, It's some fancy Italian restaurant that a lot of people go to on prom night. Amber opens my door and we walk inside, I grab her hand as we walk.

      "Hey look who finally decided to join us." Mindy says since we were about 10 minutes late. I roll my eyes and sit next to Amber. We start talking and laughing like normal. "So who are you two going with?" Liv asks, motioning towards me and Amber. Amber looks at me, I just give her a slight smile and slightly nod my head. "Oh we're going together." Amber says. "WAIT MORE GAYS?" Mindys says loudly. "Shut the fuck up Mindy, we're in a restaurant stupid." Chad says. "Wait, are you two like together?" Liv asks. "Yeah." I say with a smile. "I fucking knew it, Give me my $20 dollars Chad. I told you they were dating." Mindy says. "You placed a bet on us?" I ask. "Well yeah, I thought it was obvious you had a thing for each other but stupid Chad didn't so we made a bet and I win." Mindy says proudly.

      "What so what are you then? Everyone knows Ambers lesbian but I thought Tara was straight." Liv asks. "Oh i'm lesbian." I say. "Finally more gays." Mindy exclaims.  "So how long have you two been together then?" Liv asks. "About 2 months." Amber says.

Amber started hanging out with my friend group when we started dating, but they just thought we were friends at the time.

"You guys are cute." Chad says. "Thanks." I say, I grab Ambers hand from under the table. We eat and talk until we have to leave for prom.

We get back into Ambers car and start to drive towards the school. "I didn't think i'd ever actually be excited to go to school." I say, causing Amber to laugh. "Yeah me either, and if it wasn't for you I wouldn't even be excited for this." Amber says. I feel my face heat up I try to cover it with my hands but it fails. "Aw look your blushing."Amber says in a teasing tone. "Shut up!" I say playfully. We pull into the parking lot, people are everywhere.

Amber opens my door and grabs my hand. "You ready?"She asks me. "Yeah." I say as I pull her towards the gym. We go inside. They've put up like blue LED lights, there's disco balls, confetti, a photo station and loud music. "Wow." I say. "They actually decorated, shocking." Amber says.

"I wanna take pictures!"I say. "We'll come on." Amber says. We pay the picture man $5 dollars and we take our pictures. We get 3 different pictures, that i'll keep forever.

When we finish taking pictures, we go to find our friends. We find Mindy and Francis first, "Hey fellow gays." Mindy says as we walk towards them. "Shut the fuck up." Amber says as she rolls her eyes. "So are you two together?" I ask, gesturing to Mindy and Francis.

      "Oh yeah we are." Mindy says. "Mindy finally got some lesbian action, took long enough."Amber says. "At least I didn't fuck like every gay girl in this school." Mindy says. I feel Ambers body tense up. "Stop." I say.

     Me and Amber walk away. I know Mindy was just joking but I also know Amber doesn't like to talk about it, she's not proud of that. "Hey it's okay, she was just joking. It's okay."  I whisper into Ambers ear as I hug her tightly. "Don't let her ruin our night." I say.

      We just talk to people until a slow, romantic song comes on. The song is 'Turning Page by Sleeping At Last'. Amber pulls me onto the dance floor, wrapping her arms around my waist. She pulls me close to her, I  rest my arms around her neck. We slowly dance, as the song says 'Your love is my turning page.'. Amber leans in closer to me, connecting our lips. "I love you." She whispers. I know I love Amber, we've just never said it like as a couple. "I love you too." I say, reconnecting our lips.
