Estell woke next morning just as the sun peaked above the horizon. She was sipping herbal tea with the view of the sunrise when she was interrupted by a butler. "Miss, you have guests. I advise you to send them away. It's quite rude to visit at this hour." Estelle sighed. "Are they looking for me or my father?" She had guessed they would be seeking her father since she never really had any connections with high society. "They are seeking any member of your house." "Very well." Replied Estelle. "Wake Emel and Ian. Tell them to come with me." Emel and Ian were her 2 favorite guards. They were the best knights of the household; they were appointed by her father to escort her and they have done so ever since Estell was young. Emel was average-sized with fluffy and short blonde hair and soft, big blue eyes. He was the friendlier of the two. Ian had black hair and piercing orange eyes that sometimes looked red in the gleam of the sun. He was stern, very much like a father, thought Estelle. Ian was nicknamed the "devil" by the other knights; Estelle could see why. A tall, cold man with dark hair and eyes that appeared to glow red. He never socialized much, so rumors spread among the servants of the palace. The most known one was that he was a magic wielder, and was a spirit from hell. When he first joined, he was popular with the ladies because of his complexion, but now his reputation had ruled out any affection. Estelle personally favored Ian, not because of his looks, but because he was rather reliable. He was also quite an intelligent man; Estelle had recently found out that he knew how to read and write, which was a rare trait, even among nobles. But Ian was a mysterious man. Estelle never understood why Ian was a knight. With the skill of reading and writing, he could become a merchant with some hard work. And though he never showed it, Ian cared about Estelle very much.
