Sanzou sighed as he walked through the park.

It was eleven at night, but after the insanity that had been his mission the night prior, he had to get away from everything. He had lost the kid he was apprenticing, it had been a blow for him and despite Kaiji and Yoichi's attempts at comfort, he just needed to be alone.

It was a clear sky, he could see the stars above twinkling like they had not a care in the world.

A part of him wondered if Raiko was watching him from somewhere up there, he hoped that would be the case. Was the kid mad at him for failing to save them, or was he scolding him for blaming himself for his death? Knowing the kid, it was the latter of the two, Raiko always did have a heart of gold.

A cough sounded from behind him and Sanzou glanced back, only to freeze, standing there was a man with white hair and red eyes, a set of freckles on each cheek.

After knowing Yoichi for nearly six months, he could spot who this man was immediately even if he hadn't already known his appearance considering his line of work. The man seemed to be showing concern, which immediately allowed Sanzou time to think rationally. It was probable that the man didn't know who he was, if that was the case, he should act normal around them.

"May I help you?" Sanzou asked the man, who just shot him a kind smile.

"I just noticed you were alone out in the park at night, I walk through this park myself when I have things on my mind." The man admitted glancing upwards." Is something bothering you?"

Was he serious, of course, he was, why would he not be when he had nothing to suspect of Sanzou?

"No." Sanzou confessed, surprised he had done so." I lost someone close to me, he was a kid."

"I'm sorry to hear that," All For One murmured and he sounded genuine, which made everything feel worse knowing it was this man who had killed that kid.

Despite that, he just shot the man a grim smile, knowing he had no chance of escape if this man chose to make a move. He might as well act like nothing was wrong, to be fair, blue hair had started becoming common lately as well as green, ruby red, white, and purple. The man wouldn't find his identity as his enemy by hair color alone.

"Yeah, well in this day and age, things like this happen." Sanzou stated with an edge of bitterness." But it will get better eventually when these Meta Abilities become the new normal."

"True," All For One conceded before turning to him with a thoughtful expression." Do you believe Meta Abilities are inherently good or bad?"

Sanzou startled at that, his eyes widening.

"I-I don't think they are good or bad, they're tools to be used and it's what the user chooses to do with that power that determines whether it's used for good or bad," Sanzou stated firmly after a long moment of consideration.

"Even a power designed to steal other powers?" All For One asked and Sanzou hesitated then he nodded firmly.

"Yes, it's a power just like any other and the user would determine how it's used," Sanzou said and he glanced out of the corner of his eyes to see an unreadable expression on the criminal's face.

The both of them stood there in silence for nearly a full minute before All For One spoke once more.

"Thanks, no one has ever told me that before," All For One admitted softly, the admittance surprising Sanzou as he realized the man wasn't just testing him but genuinely wanted to know his answer.
