"Ow.." You muttered as you say on the edge of your bed.

The soft mattress was definitely a better place to sit on than the hard and dirty floor. Not that sitting on a particular surface would make your wounds automatically feel better.

Before, you didn't really acknowledge the wounds, but now that you did, the pain you felt was much more intense. It was as if people were holding hot metal poles to your skin and refused to take it off.

The male examined the grazes. Thankfully, they weren't that big. If they were bigger, you would've needed stitches. In this environment, it's been hard to even have medical equipment that works.

He held your arm and looked up close, the wound was smaller, about half the size of the other one. You couldn't help but wince in pain when your friend had you tilt your head. Chishiya hated the look of pain on your face. He carefully washed the wound on your neck and your arm, trying his best to not cause you any further discomfort. Then he opened the large container of Vaseline and spread it thinly onto the wounds.

"Try to keep this dry, and make sure to put on more Vaseline when you need it. I'll try to be around in case you need me." He handed you the container of Vaseline.

The last thing he did was tie a non adhesive bandage around your wounds to keep them from getting in contact with other things.

He knotted the white bandage and took a seat on your bed right next to you. "You didn't have to do that."

"Do what?"

"You didn't have to save us."

"Both of you saved me at some point. Just consider it as a returned favor."

"Are you close with Arisu?"

"No, didn't you ask me that question already?"

"Oh, maybe I did."

There was an awkward silence that spread across the room, and even though the last thing Chishiya wanted to do was leave you unattended, he still got up and headed to the door. You were surprised as to how he wasn't tired. You on the other hand were exhausted. The only explanation you came up with was that it's because he was able to stay calm, and waste energy stressing as much as you did. You've spent years of your life with this man, and you still haven't learned how he's been able to maintain such a nonchalant attitude towards everything.

Thankfully you took a shower already, you were not about to fall asleep on your bed without having cleaned yourself. You fell back onto your bed, and closed your eyes, letting your exhaustion overcome you; drifting you to sleep.

There was Chishiya, outside your ajar doors, watching you sleep. This was the most at peace you'd looked since you've got here. You looked beautiful while you slept. He realized right then that in this moment, you were also incredibly vulnerable.

Kuina walked towards her room, but stopped when she found Chishiya standing outside your room. "What are you doing?"

"I was just checking up on her." The blonde defend himself.

Kuina knew better. He wasn't checking up on her. It wasn't something that he would do at all.

"Are you planning on using her like one of your pawns?"

"No."

The female only sighed in reaction to the short answer she got. She was a bit worried for you, but you seemed capable enough to handle yourself. With that, she left Chishiya standing by your door while she continued to make her way to her own room.

"Can't have people finding out, can I?" He muttered as he shoved his hands back into the pockets of his jacket before closing your room's door and walking away.

He walked back into his own room and sat down on his bed, deep in thought. There needed to be a way that Chishiya could be able to have you with him constantly. He hated the idea of it, but he had to put you in the face of death and appear as the hero. It was the only way that he would be able to get you to completely rely on him the way he wanted you to.
