KIERRA

SHE HAD been running for who knows how long trying to escape two ugly creatures that craved for her death. Taking countless corners following endless roads and even that couldn't shake them and she couldn't outrun them as far as she knew those things could fly if they wanted to and she sure was lucky that they didn't infact it was only luck that things hadn't killed her yet . She knew soon enough she would tire up and the would catch so she had to get rid of them problem was she didn't know how.'come on think I don't have long and if the catch up it's game over kir,' she mentally scolded herself taking another corner running through a crowd trying to push her way through. As far as she knew the creatures were blind but they somehow always found almost like they could smell her . She took in a deep breath. Her legs were aching and her pace was slowing down but she managed a left corner and tried her best to keep running. Her hands reached into her pocket and her golden dagger was there where she got it she had no idea . She placed her left hand on her left pocket and the glasses were still there hopefully not damaged. She slowly drew a plan in her head since one of those monsters was much closer she could turn and throw the dagger into it then she'd only have one monster to worry about. She heard the first monster getting closer and closer and it was only a few minutes before it pounced and killed her.'It's now or never kir,'she mentally told herself taking in a deep breath trying to block out the thoughts of what would happen to her if her plan failed. She swiftly turned just as the monster was about to pounce and without thinking twice she pulled out her dagger and threw it directly towards the monsters throat and it was successful as she watched it exploded into dust her eyes caught something , someone a boy who wore a purple shirt and held a sword. A golden . She had no time to stop and look but had keep on running . She quickly turned and kept running this time her speed was slower and she kept slowing down by the second her heart was beating fast . She didn't know what to expect was she going to die . She'd been chased by this creatures before and escaped. Abruptly she tripped over something fell landing on her but. "No no no ", she muttered just loudly enough for anyone to hear . Her expression quickly changed into one filled with fear. This was it . She was going to wasn't she but if she did she'd meet her mom and she would get to see Johnathan right? No she didn't want to die even if it meant seeing her friends again she wanted to live. There were so many things she hadn't done yet. There was nothing she could do . She had no weapon on her and she was tired and couldn't move . She could only watch as the monster got closer and closer as it pounced there was bright light and she closed her eyes accepting her fate. All she heard next was loud screeching and felt dust fall on her and she opened her eyes . The bright light was gone but instead before her was the boy she saw earlier in a purple torn shirt blue jeans and messy hair. The boy's skin was pale which wasn't normally . He had bags under his eyes a sign that he hadn't slept in a while . He had bruises and cuts with dried blood all over his skin . His eyes were blue and kierra couldn't help but stare into them . He managed a small smile and held out his hand. He looked like he was kierra's age . Kierra took his hand as he helped her up and she dusted herself off the sword he held in his left hand  had a faint glow as got dimer and dimer . Was that where the bright light came from . Kierra was caught by surprise when the boy dropped the golden sword and it hit the ground with a loud noise and the boy began falling but she ran fast enough to catch him before he hit the ground . The boy was out cold. His breathing was sharp and his forehead was hot. He had a cold . No doubt he needed medically attention but kierra felt like she could help him. She knew she could she placed him over her left shoulder and he was very heavy and picked up the sword using her right hand and proceeded forward. As usual the people around them paid no attention to the apart from a few who gave her odd looks as she passed by them. She came to learn that the reason why people couldn't see what happens especially battles with creatures and monsters was because of something called the mist. Which hid divine or supernatural incidents from people making them see something else and she couldn't help but wonder what the mist could be showing them now like if a monster were to show up now the people would see a normal person but there were those special humans who could see through the mist and see divine or supernatural incidents as the are and instantly she remembered a famous quote her mother would tell her before she died not everything is as it seems and one thing her mother would always tell her is that names have power and wouldn't allow her to state the name of any Greek mythical creature . She never really understood why not until she learned from experience. Once when she was nine she'd been reading a book about Greek monster and villains that talked of their origin stories and fame across a page that talked about the minatour a creature that was part bull part man. She wasn't really one to believe in such thing and as a child she found it's origin story quite funny the mistake she made was mention it's name and instantly there was thunder rumbling she could remember feeling scared and terrified. When she saw a huge monsterous hand emerging from the old and ancient book as her mother would call it. She could remember screaming at the top of her lung and her mother was quick to act and lit a fire in the fire place except this fire wasn't normal it was blue . Her mother grabbed the book and threw it in the fire without hesitation and the book and hand were gone. Since then she had nightmares about that but had learned and chosen to put Greek stories aside. Something which also  made her wonder was how she understood Greek without even learning it. Finally after hours of carrying the boys heavy body she finally got to an abandoned alley and walked through it reaching a tall building and entered the building was abandoned for unknown reasons the reception was dusty filled with cobwebs but no spiders were in site there was still some furniture there but they were very dusty which would take hours to clean the TV's on the walls were switched of and dusty too surprisingly there was still electricity there. She headed for the stairs knowing it would take a while and sighed beginning the journey up. the stairs were a lot and carrying a heavy person didn't really help her case . She assumed the boy must have been one of the humans who saw through the mist where he got the sword no idea . Somehow it did look farmiliar. It reminded her  of the golden sword that her mother would keep in a glass case in her room. After what felt like hours she finally got to the top and walked down the hallway all the way to the end and opened the two brown doors there releasing a sigh of relief as her left shoulder was now aching from the weight the apartment was a pent house which she found and cleaned up and it was her new home . It was nightime and she was sleepy and needed rest. She walked to her room and placed the boy on one side of the bed and covered him with a warm heavy blanket and she sat on the couch taking in deep breaths before closing her eyes and drifting of to sleep...~¥¶∆¶¥~
