The deep breaths of great beasts resonate through the still air. The chuffs and mellow screeches sounded too loud. Whispers of anger and fury thrummed in every corner. However, there weren't corners, but mighty rocks floating. They defied gravity, stranded together by giant vines that went on far and wide. Each individual rock was either a small island or a stepping stone. Below where the water ran wild and life was free, creatures the size of elephants stomped or grazed the thickets. Each a variety of color but all fit in. Although a peaceful image, they could all sense the unease creeping beneath the ground. They could all sense it because they were all connected.

Now that connection hummed with unease, alerting all big or small that something was not amiss. And it was true. Hundreds of flying creatures lined the cliffs and mountains, all anxiously waiting for their prey to come to them. But unlike usual prey, they would not pray for their return amongst them. No, they will make sure they never see another moon rise again.

The stillness after war was nauseating. The echos of loss were bitter. There was no rest.

The faint rustle of active fauna caught the attention of a scouting party. The smaller of the five motioned for the others to follow with a slight motion of her hand. She crept through the trees and slipped through the branches, spotting what was causing the little ruckus. It was a demon, trying to dig under their unnatural structures to safety.

She motioned her group to stay as she went to creep closer.

The demon had successfully gotten to the other side, scrambling for a door. It stepped inside quickly, rushing through halls and doors unaware that it was being followed. Finally it stopped at a heavy duty door. It tapped away at the door and it opened, inside was a contraption. The demon hurried inside.

She notched her bow, aiming her toxic arrow at the unaware demon. Letting out a loud sharp cry, she caught the demon's attention. She will not allow this thing the mercy of a quick death, so she allowed herself to be known.

She hissed, spitting curses as the demon stumbled away.

"Coward! You run, they die." She spit out.

"Please! Leave me be, I'll do anything!" It cried, its ugly sobs irritating.

She grimaced, "You don't deserve to live, demon."

The demon let out a cry but was quickly silenced when she let go of her arrow. It was done. She retrieved her arrow swiftly.

Before she could turn to leave, the only exit snapped shut.

The na'vi cursed, running up to the small door. She grabbed at the crack in the middle, her fingers too big to wedge the doors open. The cold floor she stood on seemed to tremble, unlike her homes warm hum. The more time passed, the shakier the room seemed to get.

Suddenly the room rocked and with it she lost her balance. The screens lit up showing the outside. There was smoke, gray and toxic. Ikran flew, scouting the demon base. The view was from high up, and it only seemed to get further.

It took her no time to guess what was happening.

She scrambled to her feet, rushing over to what seemed the controls hoping to stop the ship she had accidentally boarded.

She pressed what she could but it only seemed to worsen things.

She was getting desperate.

Quickly her fingers found her communicator.

"Jake! Jake! Help me!" She couldn't help but cry, she was terrified.

Her comm crackled with static before Jake's voice sounded through.

"———, I hear you," he huffed a reply, he was tired. She could hear Neytiri's confusion in the background.

She sobbed in relief, he heard her.

"I am on a ship! It is going away, it's flying away! Everything I try isn't helping," she rasps out, her voice loud to convey how serious this was.

"—- You, Shit! Stay——- Red—"

Everything went silent, all except the static that seemed to want to tear her apart.

"Jake? Jake! Don't leave me! Brother-" her voice cut off.

An explosion seemed to send the ship sideways, with it she fell and hit the floor hard. Her cries for help silenced.

As her vision faded, a faint white glow soothed her into unconsciousness.
