Grandpa's book, "The Captive Heiress" goes through the Million Dollar Book Deal Generator, and within a week it is on the Bestseller list all over the world.

There were a number of book awards that would be awarded to Joseph Foxxen posthumously. It was for one of these numerous awards to which grandma was invited. Doris Foxxen was not used to being in the spotlight. She preferred to stay in the background at all family gatherings, making certain that everyone was eating well and enjoying themselves. Richard's sister Mary could not attend the award ceremony and neither could his younger brother David who was married and working in Canada as an Architect.

Doris and Joseph met over fifty years ago when he walked into a department store for a novel, the rare first print of The Manchurian Candidate by Richard Condon. It was a case of love at first sight. The couple got married and had four children, two sons, and two daughters.

Richard took his grandmother Doris who was now eighty years old to the awards ceremony.

At the ceremony, an accident occurred, which would alter the course of Richard's life and that of his family.

As Richard took his Grandmother up the stairs, she slipped, lost her balance, and fell to the floor.

Richard tried to save her, but could not stop her from hitting her head on the side of the wooden railing.

There was a disturbance, the ceremony was delayed. It seemed that Richard's Grandmother was okay as she dusted herself and walked up to receive the award.

The crowds cheered.

Richard was happy that his grandmother was a tough cookie.

It was only later that day that things seemed different.

Richard's Grandmother started to recall memories of her past. She started to remember who she really was.

"Richard do you remember the story of the Heiress who was never found?", asked Doris.

"Yes, I remember that story. Grandfather would always talk to us about the story. He said that he had always hoped that Grandmother had a good memory."

"That's true, son. But, do you also remember that he would prepare herbal teas for me to aid my memory."

"Yes, but there were also rumors that there were people who were out to kill the heiress, the powerful Coraban crime family who had a vendetta against the Southerland family, after a family feud."

"Yes, yes, I remember that too."

"But, how did the feud between the two families start?", asked Richard.

"It was when the teenager Darren Southerland and Tony Coraban went swimming and Tony drowned. The Coraban family blamed Darren Southerland's family for the death."

"Darren had a sister Patricia. Darren died under mysterious circumstances from a drug overdose in his hotel. The teenager never did drugs. His sister Patricia, the only surviving heir disappeared soon after and was never found."

"Grandma, do you remember where you got that scar on your head?"

"No, I could never recall ever having an injury on my head, except for this evening at the awards ceremony," said Grandma nursing the bruise she got on her head after her fall that evening.

"Perhaps Grandpa had found you and discovered that you had lost your memory, after a head injury."

"He didn't take me back to my home, for fear of my life and the Coraban family who were out to avenge the death of Tony Coraban."

"So, if the money is still unclaimed you can reveal who you are and claim the money."

"Yes, but with DNA tests today, you can be sure that you are the Heiress, especially since you now recall your real identity."
