After A Wild Party

Mom and dad forced me to go to the doctor, exhausted from yesterday's hell party I feel sick and sleepy on the examination table.

"When was the last time you had sex?" The doctor with a short brunette hair asks while mom stares at me.

"No doctor my baby is still a virgin, this probably has to do with her periods like she said." Mom interferes.

My parents still think that I'm a virgin, they still have that mentality that a girl should remain a virgin until her wedding night.

The doctor's patient with mom seem to be running out. "Are you sexually active Miss Titus?"

"No." I lie.

Their conversation rocks me to sleep.

"Wake up Kira!" Mom pokes me from my peaceful nap. "What am I hearing? Are drinking alcohol?"

"What's going on?" What's with the violence on the new year?

"The doctor says that you've had too much to drink. I'm so disappointed in you. You lied about being sick last night so you could sneak out to go partying. Your father's is going to be so crossed with you."

"I had a little to drink and please mom, don't tell dad." I plead with her while holding my ponding head.

The doctor gave me some painkillers and some pills to help me with nausea. The entire drive home is spend with mom telling how alcohol is going to ruin my life. She is so pissed with me. I'm tired of my parents treating me like a child, for heaven sake I'm a university student now  yet I'm treated like Matthew.

Once we reach home mom lies to dad that it was just a bug.

Since our helper is on leave, mom makes me clean the entire house and cook supper as a punishment, by the time I got to bed I slept like a corpse.

The next day my boyfriend Nico came to see me, the hot January temperature is unbearable so some fresh air from the trees would besides we don't want mom earsdropping on our conversation. Dad and Matthew are out.

Apparently Nico's family wants to go with me to a family vacation at Victoria Falls.

I went to the kitchen to pour us some juice and get us some snacks.

"You have to come with me shopping so you can  help me with picking sexy bathing suits." I say putting the tray on the garden table.

"Why don't you ask Tino?" He snaps at me and I realize that he has my phone.

I feel shivers all over my back, I hope he didn't go through it.

"What do you mean?" I hope he didn't find out.

"Your cousin texted you that he doesn't regret fucking you." He shows me the texts. "How could you do this to me with your cousin?" Hurt and anger are now visible on his face.

"I'm sorry baby it was a once off thing and I had too much to drink." I try to explain.

Mom emergency from the house.

"Shakira!" Mom shouts, I wonder what did I do this time?

"I found condom wrappers in your bathroom bin, are you and Nicolas having sex in my house?!"

"Mom please, not now." I say.

Tino's  car pulls out in the driveway, unable to get a grip on himself  he storms to the driveway and I follow him.

I stand between them so Nico doesn't attack Tino.

"Hey dude." Tino greets him.

"How could you sleep with my girlfriend you lose?" He punches Tino in the jaw despite me trying to stop the fight. They start fighting and rolling the ground. Trying to stop the fight, I fall on my butt. Dad park his car and he help with stopping the fight.

After learning about Tino and I, Mom slaps me so hard that I can hear my ear bussing. Dad hit Tino with a fist making him bleed.

"You're both a disgusting and a discredit to this. " Dad shouts and is livid as hell. "I never want to see the both of you together. Shakira go to your room you're grounded!"

I can't believe that I still have to experience this at 19 years. Instead of protesting I decide again defying his order.

The next day I'm given a silent treatment, Pumpkin and Kira has been replaced with Shakira, even Mathew now calls me with my full name.
