A/N - Apparently, my writing style has evolved according to my lovely (not at all) cousin so yay? Idk what to make of it but okay... Thank them for also giving me inspo for this chapter... ---> they are a joy (no) and a pleasure (double no) and a really good writer (actually yes) feel free to check em out. ( HP_Fanatic_In_Hell )
All chapters after this are going to be in 3rd person POV of someone. It just feels a lot easier to write in some cases.
There was so much that could go wrong in one moment.
In one moment a bullet could fire and puncture the lung of a person; in one moment a person could be beyond saving; in one moment you could hesitate just enough and a relationship shatters; in one moment, everything can change.
In one moment, Damian felt like his entire life had been crushed.

"Damian, what are you doing?"
"Bell-" he started, only to be pulled roughly by his arm. For a small woman, Maria was strong. Damian raised an eyebrow at her, though it melted away once he noted her frantic look.
"Damian Wayne, you - why are you here?" Damian stared at her, taking in the stress induced lines on her face. Her normally soft eyes were bloodshot from tears and they were flicking back and forth.
Something was very wrong.
He let out a low breath and clenched his jaw. "What's wrong, Bella? What happened?"
Her eyes went wide and she drew in a sharp, shallow breath. "I - Nothing's wrong, Damian."
Damian touched her arm, trying for the gentle touch that Grayson always did when somebody needed comfort. He wasn't very good at comforting - or emotions in general. They didn't make sense and there was no... no logic behind them.
"Bella, what happened?"
"Marinette..." her voice wavered and Damian felt his heart stutter.
"What about Marinette? Bella, what happened?"
"I don't know!" Bella wailed, covering her face with her hands. She was crying, that much was obvious, but they were loud and messy, and Damian hovered around her, feeling very out of place.
This type of crying obviously wasn't good and Damian wasn't sure what he was to do. Bella was stammering out words, disjointed babble, and she kept sniffling rather noisily. It was a sight that his mother would describe as heinous before putting said person to death.
Damian didn't think that would solve anything right now.
"Bella - Bella. Deep breath. In through the nose, out through the mouth. In, Out. Come on." Damian demonstrated the motions all while chanting stop crying stop crying very insistently in his mind.
Thankfully though, Bella began to breath normally and Damian exhaled in relief. That was over.
"Bella, can you tell me what happened?" Without tears please, he finished in his mind.
She nodded and exhaled shakily. "Marinette... she-she started convulsing a-and - it was like... it was like something was in the room... it- it wasn't... it wasn't anything bad but she was convulsing so much, like- like a really bad seizure... and then she stopped breathing-"
Damian was streaking done through the restaurant, his mind frozen. She stopped breathing, she stopped breathing.
He collided with a door and twisted the knob with more force than necessary, uncaring of the throbbing in his forehead.
