August POV:

One of the packhouse volunteers helped us bring our stuff over and it is now 10 o'clock. I step inside our new home.

We should get a dog. Or a cat. Or have children.

What did I just say?

I asked for a good sized house to one day raise kids in, a big kitchen, a cozy feeling, not too crowded but not minimalist, and to have guest bedrooms that will one day be my kids rooms. Oh yes and a beautiful big backyard but that's why I picked a plot of land on the border where the view of the mountains shine and a nice forest and opening are my backyard.

I turn the key and walk into my new home with Kai behind me.

I gasp at the open windows and moonlight shining through the home. I turn on the lights and look around at the plants and paintings. Up the stairs I imagine my kids rushing down to play outside.

Tears form in my eyes. My home is beautiful. Everything I have ever wanted and more. I cannot believe I'm here with my mate in our home.

I look at Kai and catch him already looking at me.

"It's perfect." I sniffle.

"It is." He smiles at me and turns to walk around more.

The kitchen is big but cozy. I can't wait to make my kids snacks and bake cookies for their sleepovers.

My heart beats faster. It's all so overwhelming.

All of our belongings are inside and we both decided to unpack tomorrow.

We are now inside our room that has a big widow and doors to the balcony overseeing the backyard.

"Kai, look at the view." I tell him as he takes his shoes off and gets comfortable in the our new room.

He cages me in on our balcony looking at the stars and full moon. I sigh in happiness and hope.

He places his hand on my waist and I back into him, lying all my weight on his chest.

"I have never felt like this. My father never wanted peace after my mother died so ever since then I felt that all there was to life was suffering, screaming, and loneliness." I look at him. My heart breaks and burns at his soft words.

"When I was told that I would have a rare chance at finding my mate and if I did then that person could kill me if they rejected me, I was scared. But as soon as I saw your green eyes and fierce temper. I knew I would never feel scared again." His rasped voice vibrates through my skin.

"Kai. I'm never leaving you. Ever. I don't just need to be with you to not die because of some prophecy, I want to be with you. Every piece of my body, mind, and soul wants you." I swipe my hand over his face and outline his jaw with my hand.

He pulls me closer and kisses me slowly. I feel his lips connect with mine and gently moving together. Lovingly caressing each other and I moan into his mouth.

"You have no idea how much you mean to me." He says.

He kisses deeply as I feel his tongue swipe across my lip then enter. My tongue clashes with his as our pants become needy and my chest rises and falls harder.

A sudden pain shoots through my chest and stomach. I fall to the ground and clutch my stomach.

"August!" He catches me before my knees hit the ground and I look at him through my tears.
