Waking up was the worst feeling in the world. I hated the feeling of feeling so tired and wanting to go back to sleep but I couldn't because I had this thing called a job. Sighing, I flung my legs over the bed and ripped off the blanket. Thomas wasn't in bed but I could hear his beautiful, heavenly laugh from the kitchen. I jumped in the shower real quick, helping me wake up, and then I pulled on some undergarments, skinny jeans, and a Turn The Page shirt. I made my way out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, smiling when I saw Thomas wearing a chef's hat, an apron saying "kiss the chef" and the kids surrounding him while decorating some pancakes.
"Hi mummy!" Arraya cheered as I walked in.
"Hi baby girl." I kissed each of the kids' head then wrapped my arms around Thomas.
"Morning love." He said giving my lips a small peck.
"Morning." I smiled.
"Mummy! Mummy! Look what I made!" Mark said clapping his hands. I released my husband and turned around to find Mark holding his plate towards me. There was a single, medium sized, golden pancake that was covered in blue berries, whip cream and chocolate chips. The decorations were placed in a sloppy smiley face.
"That's wonderful baby!" I kissed his cheek.
"His name is bob." He stated. I chuckled and kissed his forehead.
"You go eat now." I said. He nodded his head and sat down at the table and starting eating his pancake friend. I turned my attention back to Thomas who was placing a golden pancake on a plate. He turned to me and handed it to me. I went to grab it but he pulled it back and high above where I couldn't reach it.
"Hey! I'm hungry here!" I pouted.
He pointed the red spatula in his hand towards his apron; I reread the words then smiled. "You have to kiss the chef before you get your food." He stated. I rolled my eyes and pressed my lips to his, causing the kids to let out an "eww!" I chuckled as I pulled away. He lowered the plate and I snatched it from him before he could take it away again. I sat down at the table next to Will and Arraya.
"You have to decorate you pancake mummy!" Arraya said.
"Yeah mum." Thomas teased. I laughed and got up, walking back into the kitchen and placing the plate on the counter. Thomas was hovering over my shoulder as he watched me start to decorate. I first grabbed the whip cream and made a little beard then I grabbed some other things and decorated my pancake. After I was finished I smiled.
"Santa Claus?" Thomas asked.
"Yep, it's the next holiday coming up." I shrugged, "And it's the only thing I could think of." He laughed and peppered my face in wet sloppy kisses. He knows I don't really like saliva on my face so I grabbed the can of whip cream and sprayed it all over his face, causing him to stop.
"You did not just do that." He said wiping the whipped cream out of his eyes.
I giggled. "I did."
"You're gonna get it." He growled. My eyes widened as I ran out and into the living room where the kids could watch and laugh. Thomas came in chasing after me, throwing blue berries at my face, me catching some in my mouth as they flew by. They were laughing so hard Will almost fell out of his seat. Finally giving up, I plopped down on the grown, a bit dramatically, and looked up at Thomas who was panting just a bit.
"Love you!" I sang as I got up and skipped to the kitchen. I grabbed my Santa pancake and sat down in my first spot. We all laughed as Thomas flipped a pancake into the air and it landed on his head. It brought back a some memories of when I caught him being weird while singing call me maybe.
After eating and cleaning up our mess, especially all the berries in the living room, I said goodbye to the kids and to Thomas then made my way to the bookstore. I would have brought the kids with me but Thomas wanted to spend some time together. They were going to go to the movies and watch the new SpongeBob film. Today was an amazing day and I can't wait to be back home in my husbands' arms, our kids playing as we watched the news or some TV show. Those were the best kind of days. I honestly can't wait to grow old with Thomas.
Once home after a pretty fun day at work, we ordered pizza then played some family board games, some hide and go seek and tag. Thomas being it once again for not being fast enough with nose goes. The kids were exhausted by nine o'clock. Thomas and I watched a small film and slipped into bed peacefully.
