It was an exhausting evening for the girl sitting in her office because of the long meetings, and presentations.

It was nothing new to her but though it is her daily routine it was still tiring.

She was working on her laptop when her phone rang catching her attention.

It was a call from the person who hasn't called her in over three years.

Anyone would rather be excited to answer that call but she was rather scared, her heart raced inside her chest.

With her hands sweaty she hesitantly picked up the call preparing herself to hear the deep, unwelcoming voice.

Though she was scared she knew her manners to greet the elder first.

" Hello father "

There was silence for some time on the other flank, which made her tense even more.

" Nari-ah, it's me Yuta. I called you from this phone to inform you that Mr. Kang is no more ."

It was completely silent for a few minutes. Yuta knew it was too much for her to digest so he didn't say anything further.

He waited patiently without letting out more details until he heard her say

" When did it happen ?"

" Merely an hour ago. I'll give you all the details once you arrive here. Your flight tickets have been reserved. You have a flight at 12 so get everything ready. We'll be waiting for your arrival ." with that, he hung up the call.

Nari just sat there trying to process everything, she didn't know what she was feeling.

She tried to let her pain out but surprisingly not a single tear slipped down her face.

She didn't know what she is feeling nonetheless, one thing was sure this feeling is nothing compared to the pain 10 years old Nari felt when she saw her mother's lifeless body laying on the ground.

A few hours later Nari packed all her luggage and went to the airport, she was quiet all the while.

The plane soon took off, and while she was on the plane she tried to recollect her last moments with her dad.

While Nari was studying in her house library, one of her father's men came up to her and asked her to follow him to her father's office.

The young girl was reluctant but went along with him.

" You called me father?" she asked in a low tone.

" Ah yes Nari I called you here to inform you that you'll be going to London to pursue graduation in business and take care of the London branch of our Kang sol," he said casually not paying much attention.

Nari was shocked at the sudden news but before she could say anything her father's next sentence made her bite her tongue.

" If you don't want to go abroad you can just stay here and I'll marry you off to the son of Mr. Choi. Their business is doing quite well too, so it would be a good deal for our company."

" I'll study in London " was the only thing she said.

" That was quick," he said while having a small smirk on his face, looking at her for the first time during the conversation.

"Anyways, get everything packed you'll be leaving within a week. "

                                ~~

And that was the last time she saw her father.

Even while she was leaving for London he didn't bother to send her off at the airport.

He used to call her a couple of times a year, once on her birthday and once on his birthday, or sometimes regarding their company matters.

However, for the last 3 years guess he got too busy he didn't even call her once.

When he had to inform her of things she would have to hear it through his P. A or colleagues.

It has been eight years since they since saw each other and a complete 3 years since she heard his voice.

Any other daughter would have been heartbroken but she was somehow relieved.

It pained her heart but she convinced herself that things were better this way.

The flight landed at the Seoul airport after a 12-hour-long journey.

Her eyes were searching for faces she hasn't seen for so long.

While her eyes were wandering among the crowd somebody tapped on her shoulder and when she turned back they pulled her into a tight hug.

She was surprised but hugged him back.

" Nari - yah. It's been so long " he cooed

" Jackson let me go, we should reach home first " she smiled a tiny bit and replied calmly.
