Love at first sight (9)

It has been a few weeks since the incident and today is finally Seunghyun's first day in his new highschool. The school is located near their neighbourhood and it's only a walking distance. Seunghyun was already prepared in his uniform and went down to greet his aunt before leaving.

He saw JiNa sitting on the couch while playing her phone. When she looked up, she glared at her cousin.

"What took you so long, Choi Seunghyun?! Are you planning to be late on your first day of school? And I thought boys get ready faster than girls?" She rolled her eyes.

Seunghyun didn't reply. He wasn't in the mood to do so. He went to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of cold water. There, he saw Mrs Jung preparing food.

"Seunghyun and JiNa, I made you guys some kimbap, make sure to eat it okay?" She had a smile plastered on her face while handing out the lunchboxes.

"Eomma why kimbap?? We're in highschool already. My friends are so gonna tease me," Mrs Jung narrowed her eyes at her daughter.

"Why? I like it though. She makes the best kimbap ever. If you don't like it, you can give it to me," Mrs Jung laughed heartily as Seunghyun reached out his hands for JiNa's lunchbox.

"Its okay I changed my mind. Thanks Eomma I love you. Come on coussy we're running late," They waved goodbye to Mrs Jung and started their journey to school.

They were walking quietly when suddenly JiNa shouted MiRae's name. The latter did not respond to it because she had earpiece plugged into her ears.

"SONG MIRAEEE" JiNa ran to her while pulling Seunghyun behind.

Mirae was startled when JiNa slung an arm on her shoulder. But when the shock dissipated, a smile was evident on her face.

"Yah Jung JiNa can you be quiet. People are still sleeping at this time," She scolded JiNa.

MiRae then turned to Seunghyun and greeted him by bowing a bit. It was their first encounter after that incident at the hospital. MiRae was embarassed because she realised that she said too much to a stranger. She accidentally had went over the boundary. She was impolite.

For the rest of their journey to school, JiNa did the talking as the both of them stayed quiet, occupied with their own thoughts.

"Mirae-yaa please show Seunghyun the way to the principal's office. I have to meet my group members for a while. I can count on you, right? heheh byee" She left without hearing Mirae's reply.

In complete silence, Mirae lead the way, with Seunghyun tailing her closely behind. The room is situated at the end of the long hallway and they finally arrived. She made sure her appearance looks neat before knocking on the door twice. From inside, they heard her voice allowing them to come in.

"Good morning Madam Sooyeon. This is the transfer student from Seoul and his name is-" She didn't manage to complete her sentence and their principal had interrupted.

"Choi Seunghyun! I was anticipating you since the first day. Welcome to Kyungnam Highschool, I hope you will have pleasant days here. If you ever need anything, feel free to knock on my door anytime," Her gaze was fixated on Seunghyun and she's smiling from ear to ear.

"Umm please excuse me, I will go to my classroom now," Mirae felt awkward being there, so she wanted to leave.

"Oh not too soon, young lady. I have a favour from you. Bring Seunghyun around the school so that he does not get lost. You may skip your lessons and I will inform your teacher later," Mirae abided to the Principal's words since she has no choice.

She decided to bring him to the school hall first which is at level one. While they were descending down the stairs, they met one of Mirae's classmate, Im Yaeri.

"Hi Mirae! Where are you going right now? Aren't you supposed to be in the classroom?" Yaeri asked, while looking at Seunghyun who was beside Mirae.

"I have to skip class today because Madam Sooyeon instructed me to tour the new kid around," MiRae answered truthfully.

"But it's your turn to present the project today, right? I can help you if you don't mind," Yaeri flashed a smile, still looking at Seunghyun and Mirae gladly took the offer.

"Thank you, I really appreciate it. Seunghyun-sshi, I'll be going now," Seunghyun looked unamused. His eyes were glued to the floor.

"Soooo your name is Seunghyun? I'm Yaeri, it's good to see you," She extended her hand and Seunghyun simply ignored her.

"I'm not in the mood to do anything right now, thanks though for your offer," Seunghyun went to the opposite direction, towards the school gate. He was going to skip school for today. Although he knew that JiNa will lecture him for hours, he doesn't really care about the consequences.

Yaeri balled her hand into a fist, trying hard to calm herself down. It was love at first sight. Choi Seunghyun...

I'll do anything and everything to make you mine. We'll just wait and see. She smirked.

"YAH CHOI SEUNGHYUN" JiNa barged in his room and woke him up. He leaned on the bed frame.

"I didn't see you anywhere. Why did you skip school?" She sat on the couch adjacent to the bed, waiting for his answer.

"The Principal allowed me to tour around the school today but Mirae had something going on so I went home. Anyway my head is aching" Seunghyun made an excuse. He knew that JiNa don't like to see anyone sick.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier Seunghyuniee. Do you need me to get the pills for you?" Her voice changed to a gentle tone.

"No I just need some rest, so can you please-" Jina left the room quickly. Seunghyun chuckled. She shouldn't trust people that easily.

His mind wandered to the person he met earlier in the morning. The aura that she gives off is completely different from Mirae's. The latter has a calm and comforting vibe while Yaeri is ambitious and temperamental.

He wasn't comfortable to be around her. Her stare was the worst thing ever. It was a flirty one. Not that he isn't used to that. Back in Seoul, many girls tried to hit on him but he gave them the cold shoulder. He is sick of them. All of the girls like him because of his stunning looks and wealth, not for who he really is. He have not found the right person.

But he's not too bothered by that. He's still in high school, it means that it's too early to talk about love.

What is love? He wasn't sure about the real meaning. They say love strengthens yet weakens. It is capable of making one's life a lot more better, yet it's also capable of destroying their lives anytime.

It's complicated and he does not want to think about it.
