"50 ccs of rhesus negative, stat." said Renfield, so anxiously. After what happened just a few hours ago, Renfield quickly hooked Erin up to his machine, which is a basic copy of a hospital bed and has a small screen that reads four separate words with a plastic arrow pointing to whatever form she is in. She's unconscious and barely hanging onto life with small breaths. She's dying and it's my fault. "She's crashing. Power up the defibrillator."

"What?" said Renfield, so baffled.

"The lightning maker."

"Oh, why didn't you say so?" He then rushes over to the machine to power it on.

"We need to get her to a proper hospital," said Vlad, so sadly.

"A breather hospital can't help Erin," said Bertrand, talking to him.

"Why not?"

"Look at her shoulder." He moves the collar of Erin's jacket, which revealed small sparkling pieces of a gem embodied through her skin. It looks awful. I can only imagine what pain she would be in.

"What is that?" said Ingrid, so curiously.

"When Adze set off the fireball, it shattered the gem in the Ring of Arianrhod. Those are fragments of the gem."

"Pieces from a forbidden dark weapon. No breather could ever recover from an injury like that." We'll see about that.

"Ready," said Renfield, giving two mirror templates to Bertrand. He's going to shock Erin back to life. It won't work at all.

"Clear." said Bertrand, placing the mirror templates on Erin's chest. Her body flails up, shaking immensely as a bright light shines from the machine. Once Bertrand is done, Erin is still unconscious. The arrow is now between Dead and Very Dead, so he tries again. "Clear." It is the same result except for the fact that the arrow is now between Very Dead and Very, Very Dead. The machine shows a long straight line instead of constant beeping. She can't die.

"I'm sorry, Vlad." said Bertrand, so sorrowfully. Vlad just shakes his head in response. He just won't accept that. He kneels beside Erin, speaking to her sleeping self.

"Listen to me. You're going to be alright." said Vlad, so encouragingly.

"Can't you read?" said Ingrid, so sarcastically. "She's—" She looks over at the screen, where much to everyone' surprise, the arrow has moved to— "Alive? Just how?" Could it be—

"Because of Vlad." said Bertrand, so shocked.

"Typical." said Ingrid, scoffing at him.

"She's at the brink of death, but the Chosen One's feelings are holding her back."

"So, I can keep her alive," said Vlad, grasping for hope.

"For a while," said Bertrand, answering him.
