People came and left, eventually including the oddball bunch of boys. I was exhausted when closing finally came about, and a little dizzy. Jeez, my boss is such a pain in the ass. Why he keeps things open so late, I'll never know. But anyway, once the place was finally closed up, I was stuck out in the parking lot. Due the relative closeness of where we lived and how our schedules seemed to relate, Jack was my ride to and from work. The few times he couldn't was when he was either sick (apparently) or had some other important business that day and I simply rode my bike. Today was not one of those days. So for about half an hour or so, it was just me, the parking lot, and my phone.

A few minutes later though, an odd chill ran down my spine. Well I figured it was just nerves from being alone at night in a dark parking lot, but then I wasn't so sure. I looked up from my phone for a moment when the urge to cough hit me. Once the urge passed, I looked down, only to see my phone shut off. "So it already lost power, perfect." I thought. Oh how I was wrong though. Not a moment later I looked up again and noticed something incredibly peculiar, the figure from earlier was standing across the street from me.

This actually made me pretty mad I guess, because I start walking toward it. "Alright buddy, I saw you earlier today, you'd better have a damn good reason for it, too. So I suggest you start talking-" Everything started to slow down: in my head, my surroundings, everything. It was like a sort of haze just draped over everything, clouding my brain and eyes. "Before... I..." My words started to slow, my feet trudged along; but I couldn't get them to stop. "Call.....police.." I couldn't see his face. The frightening man seemed to stretch to an immeasurable height, towering over me.

Everything before me started to blur, I was lightheaded; but everything rushed back and sharpened my senses as a hard, heavy object came at me from the side, literally ramming me a few inches away and causing my body to scrape and roll down the street a little.
Everything hurt, but it was falling numb rather quickly. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was two bright lights, and someone rushing towards me.

What the hell had happened?! None of this was supposed to of happened! How was I supposed to know she'd be walking out in the middle of the street?! I mean, really? What kind of human does that? //Name// was always so alert-
Maybe I should start from the beginning.
Hey, my name is Jack. I don't like talking, but I'm not exactly talking right now, now am I? I was //name//'s next door neighbor for about a year now, and she's the closest thing I have to what you people call "a friend."

It's not like I exactly wanted to, it just sort of happened. It all has to do with that little bracelet of hers. How was I supposed to know I had to listen to that little rock? How does a rock even have control of me? No matter, that's not important now. Long story short, I'm sort of a "guardian" to this girl. So of course I need to at least have a good relationship with her! I'm not going to sit on the sidelines and watch from afar like some creep, that's saved for my other...occupation, as it can be called. But yeah, so I was coming back from dinner, ironically headed toward the restaurant she just worked the dinner rush at, and coming to pick her up.

I knew I was about there, when suddenly I see her in my headlights. That's when the chaos ensued. I managed to hit the breaks just in time so the car wouldn't run her over or flip her to the pavement behind it, but she did still bounce off the front bumper. Guardian of the year, right? As quick as I could, I got out of the offending vehicle and rushed up to make sure she was still in one piece. She was definitely bloodied up, and there were definitely a few more major injuries, like the gash where she first hit the ground on her forehead. Maybe a few broken, or at the very least fractured, ribs. Nothing that could be fatal though, well maybe the gash, but I could take care of that!

Now was the matter of the Pasta Monster that I saw out of the corner of my eye. Well sorta, I'll explain that one later later. The Slenderman, quite the name around town. Back in the Underworld Realm, he was one of the top Monsters out there apparently. Pfft, big deal, so you're a stick with tentacles and no face, he's only top because he was one of the first ones in the human realm, teleport, and screw with electronics. Well Big Bad was gone when I turned to face him, well, I was the only conscious one of with a face there. So I shrugged it off and picked up //Name//, trying to be gentle so I didn't cause anymore damage, and put her in the backseat of my car. Without a second thought, I took off, speeding away toward our neighborhood.

I don't like me right now. It took too long for me to get off my butt and update.
Sorry guys. I just need to keep reminding myself.
I mean, I don't want this to go inactive. It already came close.
I'm on vacation, but I will be typing up the next chapter on the way home.
Now I have an idea as to where I will go with this.
Thanks for staying with me though. I'll try not to disappoint anymore.

Stay Freaky, Brotatoes!
