I set down my coffee, ran to the door, and slammed it shut before locking it. After half an hour of watching out the window I actually peered out the door. All in my field of vision was the front yard and beginning to awake neighborhood around my home. Wasting a few more minutes looking around, I hesitantly moved back to my spot on the couch with my now much less steaming sugar, cream, and caffine filled mug. Thanks nightmare dude.

Upon opening up my laptop, it was quite obvious there was a new tab open on my toolbar. I clicked it to find MicrosoftWord in use. In the file was a message in bold, italic lettering.

My dearest //Name//

I've been watching you for a while now, beautiful.

I stared at the screen in disbelief for a few minutes before looking down at my bracelette. "This is your fault isn't it?" I glared. "You're supposed to bring protection and luck. This is the opposite!" I bitterly thought. Before you think I'm crazy, let me explain.

When I first moved here, the past owner left a box of house warming gifts. The usual things, two lamps, curtains, etc. One thing seemed to definitely stick out though, a bracelet with a single bit of lapis lazuli in the middle. The previous owner left a note telling me the exact thing I've said already about it. You know, except for it sucking at it's job.

It was like it was incredibly urgent I got it, like something bad would happen if I didn't. A few days later, she was apparently found dead in the woods, mauled. Ever since then I hadn't taken the bracelet off. Except when I was in the shower of course, but even then it was nearby...
