The car runs out of gas in the middle of no where. At this point i have thoughts of giving up and just passing away on the ground. I check my map and see we're in Cloud Ville. I feel a not in my stomach. Cloud Ville used to be a nice town. Until one day the police showed up and arrested a bunch of people for no reason. Turns out there was a group planning on assassinating our previous president, Morgan Barrett, a dick. But word got out and they were taken away and never found again. The town has been abandoned ever since. You would think some people would stay but every house was destroyed from all the grenades the cops used. After a long walk down a silent road, we see a sign.

'Welcome to CloudVille!' with a missing l. The sign has rusted to the point it's transparent. The first building we pass is an abandoned arcade. Vines climb up the walls, bushes protect the arcade perimeter. We start to walk past when Mason stops.

"Guys", we all turn.

"We should stay here for now" He states, "It's gonna get dark soon and we have no clue what's in this town". He raises a good point.

"But election day is in three days, we don't have time" Tyler argues.

"Trust me, I've been here before. Even before it was abandoned it was still very dangerous, especially at night" replies mason.

"Fine. We'll stay for the night but as soon as we wake up, we're killing some miles". As i walk through the tall grass, I feel the gripping of the plants on my shoes. The scent of forestry and dead people flick my nostrils. The arcade is decently sized. A big sign saying 'arcade' is stood above the building. Smoke erupts from the interior as I push open the metal door. We cough simultaneously. The inside is riddled with red leather chairs, arcade machines, empty French fry boxes and a lot of grease. We repair the place by picking up chairs and fallen arcade machines. Tyler follows a wire out back, hoping it leads to a generator. Brooke scans the kitchen for any decent food we can have. Me and Mason search around the main area. I spot some scribbles and crumpled up paper at the corner of the building. We both investigate. The scribbles on the side of an arcade machine read, 'Chelsey x Jack' with a love heart around it. There is other names scribbles
As well but I can't be bothered saying them all. Mason unfolds the paper on the floor and stares at it for a while.
"What is it?" I ask, trying to peak over the paper. He doesn't respond. I wave my hand in front of his face. He foods it and puts it back in his pocket. His actions confuse me. Why can't I see it. Is it something to do with him? He did say he's been here before.
"Mason, what is it?" I ask again. He stares at the floor.
"Come on, let me see it" I say. His eyebrows crunch and he aggressively scrambles in his pocket for the paper the. Throws it at me.
"Fine!" He sits in the corner and tears flood from his eyes. I slowly read the paper, word for word.
'Masons dad's a psycho, he beats him, pass it on', my head fly's up to him. My heart drops and my last emotion left is guilt. He walks  into the bathroom, his head low. I feel my stomach tie itself up. I feel the need to talk to him about his dad. At the hotel, I felt awkward and left. But that was probably a cry for help. Maybe the only reason he's helping the Dead revolt is to die a hero. I lift off my seat, but something holds me back from the bathroom door.
