It was a cool Saturday morning. The Dodge challenger moved at a speed that could make a snail a champion. Why were we moving so slowly in a beast like the challenger you ask? Well it was thanks to all the people crowded on the road.
"Boy, Lanzhou sure is busy today!" My mum exclaimed while desperately trying to navigate through the maze of people.
"Its China, what do you think? Just honk at them or something." I uttered with a hiss.
"Now that would be rude Harry." She scolded and I scoffed while looking out the window at the people who admired the car.
My mum smirked at my childish demeanor and cleared her throat with a short cough. "But, who said we couldn't rev up the engine a little." She teased and made the car roar like the beast it is!
The people on the road immediately gave way and I burst into laughter. "I didn't see that one coming."
"Me neither, sometimes I tend to get carried away." She said with a playful grin. A few turns and stops later, we had arrived at the house my mum was assigned to. My mother had been transferred by her hospital to one of its branches in China.
The hospital was called Purity under the company called Purity prime. The company dealt in everything with almost everyone, it was almost as important as the internet at some point!
The hospitals have branches almost everywhere which brings me back to my mum who's one of their doctors. I let Alexa, my dog out of the car to go explore her new territory. The Indian Spitz barked in delight at the view. "I know right, its huge." I beamed with excitement.
I helped my mum settle into the new house by moving some of our belongings in. Turns out we lived in a smart house that won't open to mere keys like a peasant, it had a key card.
Hardly had we gotten a chance to take a break when my mom spoke. "By the way, you will be going to one of Lanzhou's high schools in two days." She said in one preplanned breath.
I stared at the Raven haired woman with a dumbstruck look on my face. "I don't know Chinese, what if they talk shit about me behind my back!?"
"Relax they speak English there."
"What if I am attacked?" I asked obviously not worried about my safety.
"Fight back duh, didn't your dad give you military training?" She asked and started ordering some noodles."That wasn't the point." I exclaimed and she shrugged. "Obviously I know you don't want to go to school, but you gotta go and that's final." She said and started playing games on her phone like a some sort of teenager.
"I will not go to school just like that!" I uttered and crossed my arms. Alexa gave a bark of approval for my bravery.
Hardly had those words left my lips when my mum glared at me from the corner of her eye. "What did you say boy?" She asked and I flinched!
In the end I gave in to her and accepted the forceful opportunity of more education. We had dinner and I decided to retire to my room to rest.
I then pulled out my phone to talk to my best friend Steve. "Hey Steven." I greeted with a sigh. "Hey, why so down?" He asked with his strong British accent. "I left America with my mum for China but now I have to study in one of the Schools here." I said angrily while running my hand through my brown hair.
"Before I give you the information I have, do tell where you are going to study." He insisted and I rolled over my bed to pick up the files on a table. "Something like Yuozong Siling." I exclaimed amd he chuckled.
"Well mate, then this information will make you chuffed to bits! That's the school I am going to." He said and I gasped in shock.
"We could get used to the environment together, I am heading there for an exchange program with some other kids." He explained and I silently celebrated the win. "That's great man! Now let's play Call of Duty and call it a night."
