Hell on Ice

Chapter 7

The monstrosities that leaped from both sides of the road surrounded by tall grass were relentless. Even after seeing their friends brains getting blown out, they still kept pushing!

"Why won't they give up!?"

A zombie leaped into the air with its claws drawn back ready to deliver a deadly blow on Mr. Evans! Veronica stepped up and blasted the Zombie square into its chest!

It screamed with anger but was silenced with a barrel in its mouth and finally loud BANG!

Evans looked towards the van and noticed the zombies trying to make their way to it. "The bus!" Evans roared and I dashed towards it!

I pulled out my uzi and cleared close to three of the zombies but I felt the backlash of the gun on my arm. "Should have taken more lessons with dad." I said to myself and didn't bother reloading it.

I pulled out the Glock I had holstered in my belt and gunned down zombie after zombie. Steve defended Nia and Hikari to the best of his abilities with only a golf club as his weapon.

"Guys get back to the bus!" Steve roared while trying to fight off some of the zombies. I reloaded the uzi I had and called out his name.

"Steve!" I roared and he looked my way only to see me throw my gun towards him. Steve stuck the golf club in the zombie's mouth and grabbed it. "Tanah! Move to the bus with Mei, I will cover you!" I commanded and she bolted for the bus amidst all the chaos.

A zombie tried to flank Steve from the right but it was instantaneously stabbed in the eye with a pocket knife. It fell back and Steve finished it off with 5 instant shots.

"Thanks Hikari." Steve said and the girl pulled him back by his sleeves. "I have an idea!" She said while trying her best to sound like she knew how to re-establish control over the situation.

Tanah and Mei finally retreated back to the locomotive with Belle, Huan and Xiu Li. "Take cover here!" Xiu Li called and Tanah immediately followed the instructions.

Hiding next to Belle, Mei looked at the pretty girl who was stressfully snacking on Doritos. "Huh? Oh, you want some?" She asked with her mouth full.

"Yeah okay." Mei reluctantly accepted and was given a handful of the dried delicacy.

"Hey Belle give me your sweater!" They heard from the window. "What!? Why!?" Belle wondered and Hikari hissed like an angry viper.

"Alright fine!" Belle submitted and handed over the cotton sweater to the Asian beauty. "Why do you want mine!?" Belle cried out like a distressed puppy.

"Cause cotton burns fastest!" She explained and ripped the sweater into two. She handed one piece over to Steve and set it a blaze with her lighter.

"You smoke!?" Steve asked with his eyebrow raised. "Sorry to turn you off Prince Charming." Hikari said coldly but Steve only chuckled. "Not at all, I actually find it rather thrilling." Steve admitted and they both dashed to the their sides of the tall grass.

Hikari placed her burning piece of cotton in the grass and it slowly started to burn. Steve followed suite and finally the pathway was blocked out by flames that scorched the zombies that tried to make their way through the furnace.

"We have about two hours left! Fix the van!" I commanded and Mr Evans immediately got to working on it. Steve and I remained on look out as he worked on the van.

"It's done!" Evans yelled out and climbed back into the van. "Let's go kid!" Veronica called out.

"I can't leave my mum. You guys go, I will meet up with you!" I said and climbed onto my bike. "Kid wait!" Veronica called out but I was already racing back to the city.
