Your anxiety rose as more parents poured into the school for Parents Weekend. You knew some of the parents didn't approve of one normie, nevermind two, and you felt eyes on you. Quite a few were friendly to your surprise though. They had lots of questions about how their children were doing and behaving. You were able to breathe some sigh of relief each time a parent smiled at you.
Your thoughts were primarily on Ugene though. You went to visit him every other day. He was such a sweet innocent boy and it tore at your heart to know that he had been through something so horrific. They were thinking he would wake up, but they weren't sure yet completely. Larissa hadn't been to visit but you knew it was because of her guilt, not because she didn't care. You tried to distract each other, but even then it was hard. Larissa had to keep a strong face on for the kids but also not allow the parents to know that their children may be in danger.
You believed Larissa was starting to believe Wednesday and her theories, but she hadn't admitted it and you didn't think she would, at least not anytime soon. You knew the two of you needed to talk about it so after Larissa's speech you climbed the stairs and down the hallway to her office.
You knocked your special knock to let her know it was you, but there was no reply. You were certain you saw her come this way so you knocked, louder this time. Still no response. She must have made a pit stop somewhere and just hadn't gotten to her office yet. You smirked, getting an idea. You would hide under her desk again, hopeful to elicit a screech from her lips. You pushed the door open but to your surprise, you found Larissa at her desk, doing her lipstick.
She jumped when she heard the door open but upon seeing you relaxed, letting out a small giggle.
"You startled me. I thought you were someone else," she said.
You cocked your eyebrow. How could she think it was someone else?
"Who are you expecting?" you asked.
"Wednesday's family is coming in for a meeting."
"Why would they knock my special knock?"
"You knocked?" she asked, somewhat surprised.
You laughed at this, even though you were slightly annoyed. She must have been really deep in thought. You walked over and around her desk, coming to sit on its ledge. She looked up at you and smiled that warm smile, her eyes radiating softness. Immediately the annoyance went away and all was well.
"Why are you so distracted, my love? Are you nervous about this meeting?" you asked, running a finger along her jaw. She leaned into your touch, almost purring.
"No, I was just distracted," she hummed. She turned her head and placed a kiss on your fingers before going back and returning to her makeup.
"Why are you so distracted and doing your makeup if it's not for me?"
She blushed a little at this and didn't look at you. Now you were really curious. Before you could ask another question, there was a knock at the door. Larissa stood quickly and flew past you, nearly knocking you right off the desk. You stood and watched her open the door, allowing Wednesday and her family to come in. Her little brother came in and immediately noticed you, smiling softly and waving a tiny wave at you. You waved back and watched him sit on the floor before your gaze shifted to his father. Gomez had kind eyes and was a very nice man, which is strange for how dark he was. Morticia was just the same, only with the beauty of a literal goddess. You were intrigued and flustered by them all at the same time.
"Morticia, Gomez, have a seat," Larissa said, never not looking at Morticia. She never even broke her gaze as she bumped straight into you. She mouthed sorry and went and sat in her chair, scooting up. Something about the way she looked at Morticia bothered you greatly, but you couldn't put your finger on exactly why. It almost felt like you were interrupting something between the two of them.
