Tatiana
I sit straight, looking out into the crowd of party goers.
I look over to my mother who looked equally as dull as I did.
"Mother, when can I eat?."I ask, leaning over.
"Just finish your wine, Tatiana."she mumbles.
I huff, looking over to the chalice on the arm of my throne.
"I want something to eat."I say.
"Princesses don't eat in the presence of others."my mother says coldly.
"Feed my child, Meredith."I hear my father say.
My mother scoffs and then signals a servant to bring me some food.
A few moments later he arrives with a platter of meat and bread.
My father leans forward in his throne, looking over to see if I was actually eating, and my mother wasn't scolding me with her eyes.
After, he stands to address his kingdom.
"Ladies and gentlemen of Evandor. Council members, village people, one and all. I want to thank you for coming here, and celebrating my daughter's coming of age."he says before raising his glass to me.
The entire ballroom raises their glass, cheering to me. I smile, raising my chalice to them as well.
My mother rolls her eyes, staying seated.
My mother had become particularly harsh before this day had arrived.
I'm sure she wouldn't have if she had given birth to a male heir.
She can't fathom another woman being above her.
My father on the other hand, was excited I would be taking over.
He and I talk all the time about change in the kingdom.
"The coronation will take place at sunrise! So that the light of the new day will be greeted by the light of our new queen."
The crowd cheers and my cheeks turn red as I look at my father, who how's his head and raises his chalice to me.
Suddenly, a knight bursts into the room, panting and out of breath. His metal armor clinking interruptingly.
"THE BLOOD PRINCE!"he shouts, causing instant panic throughout all the people in the ballroom.
"The blood prince is coming!"the night bellows, kneeling to my father.
My father stands, glancing at me.
"Everyone remain calm! I'm sure there's something-"
My father was cut off my the doors being kicked open.
Screaming, and panic can be heard as strange looking knights begin to walk in 4x4.
Their armor was black, and the helmets spiked, and scary looking.
They all chant as they walk, shouting in deep scary voices, a phrase in their own native tongue.
Then they all stop as they come to the steps of my father's throne.
They then split down the middle, and a tall man stood between the two walls of knights.
He was very clearly royalty, based off his armor. His face was covered with a dark helmet, like the other but this one was accented with golden chains, and sharper points.
He raises his arms and then lifts the helmet off his head slowly.
The townsfolk all gasp as they see his face. They had only heard stories about his scars.
