The rest of my school day came and went without being noteworthy. There were a couple classes with Cory, a one or two more with Shawn, and one godforsaken english class that had them both.

I walked home enjoying the sun on my face and lack of noise. Shawn and Cory offered to walk home with me, but I thought some peace and quiet sounded nice. When I arrived back at the Matthews I threw my school bag in the corner and flopped onto the couch with my current book, Lord of the Flies.

"Look Cor it's not that hard. Just find a girl and ask her out!" Shawn's voice came from the kitchen as the boys came home.

"That may work for you but I'd just get laughed at" Cory said as he and Shawn walked into the living room.

"No- well... So what if you have to ask out a few different girls, it's good practice," Shawn suddenly realized I was also in the room "Y/N-"

"Nope!" I interrupted before he could finish. "Absolutely not. Not getting involved."

"C'mon don't ya just wanna boost this little guy's ego?" Shawn asked while gesturing to Cory like he was a prize on a game show.

I snorted to closed my book. "Fine. Cory why don't you ask out that girl sitting in front of you in english. I saw her talk to you a few times so maybe she won't throw up at the idea."

"Do you mean Topanga?! No. Not happening" Cory said a bit too defensively. "You guys suck at this" he said before heading upstairs.

"What was that about?" I asked Shawn.

"Cory's totally in love with Topanga but refuses to admit it. I think he just wants a girlfriend to prove me wrong," Shawn said and sat on the couch, shoving my legs out of the way in the process.

"I don't get that. How does getting a girlfriend prove you aren't in love with someone else?" I questioned and put my legs back where they were, which just so happened to be Shawn's lap now.

"I never said it was a good plan," Shawn chuckled and glanced at the book in my hands. "Oh gross are you reading for fun?!"

"Yes. Yes I am. And for your information this is an amazing story about how horrible men are"

"What's with you and hating guys huh?" Shawn asked leaning towards me. "Who hurt you?"

I lightly smacked him with the book while laughing. "No one hurt me. And I don't hate men, you're just an idiot."

Shawn put a hand to his chest and dropped his jaw. "Rude."

"Shawn where are you? Come on," Cory had suddenly appears on the steps to beckon Shawn before dashing up them again.

"Guess he needs me. Bye N/N," Shawn said before heading up the stairs.

"Don't call me that!" I yelled after him.

"I didn't hear that" he yelled back.

I shook my head and opened back up my book.
