I'll Protect You| Adopted By Namjin

Chapter 15

"Good morning hun." Seokjin greets Namjoon, who shoots a lazy grin in response to the greeting, mumbling a 'good morning' to Jin as he backhugs him. "Do you think we could visit Eun today?" Seokjin asks as he turns around, wrapping his arms around Namjoon's shoulders.

"I was going to ask you the same thing. So, let's visit Eun today and after that we could go out for lunch, after that we head to work. What do you think?" Namjoon asks, making sure Jin was okay with his plans. "Sure. Let's do that." Jin says with a smile.

Jin checks the address a second time, making sure they were at the right place. It didn't look like the best locality and definitely not the right one to raise a child in. Jin shakes his head reminding himself that Katherine and Jihoo were struggling and doing the best they  can.

Namjoon takes a look around, his thoughts the same as his husband's. He drapes a protective arm over Jin, pulling him closer as they enter the apartment building. "What floor?" Namjoon asks as he stares at the staircase in front of him, the ancient building didn't have a elevator so they had to climb up the stairs.

"Third." Seokjin answers as he starts climbing up the stairs, Namjoon following behind him. The atmosphere of the building was cold and it scared the couple for a second. But they calmed their nerves, reminding themselves that they were doing this for Eun and if it meant seeing Eun, they'd do anything.

Seokjin rings the bell on 302, the couple waiting for either Katherine or Jihoo to open the door.

'Who the fuck is it so early in the morning?' Jihoo mutters under his breath as he gets out of his bed to open the door. It was 10 in the morning but Katherine and Jihoo had gotten used to of sleeping late and waking up exceptionally late so it was 'early in the morning' for the couple.

Jihoo opens the door and for a second is shocked to see Jin and Namjoon. "Hello Seokjin ssi, Namjoon ssi. Please come in." Jihoo says with a polite smile as soon as he recovers from the shock, opening the door wider for the couple to enter. "Hi. Good morning." Seokjin says as Namjoon and him enter the apartment.

"How are you?" Namjoon asks as he sits on the couch, Jin sitting beside him. "I'm good. How are you two? It must be a lot less exhausting for you now that Eun is not around." Jihoo says with a forced chuckle. "On the contrary it been really quite for us. We miss the hustle and bustle." Jin says with a sigh as Namjoon nods in agreement to his husband's words.

"I'll go get Kath and Eun." Jihoo says excusing himself knowing that he should leave the talking part to Katherine. "Wake up Kath. The wretched duo is finally here." Jihoo whisper yells as he shakes Katherine awake. It takes Katherine a second to wake up but the moment she registers Jihoo's words, she immediately steps into action.

Katherine pulls on some more presentable clothes and takes a deep breath, knowing that fooling the system might have been easy but fooling Namjoon and Seokjin wouldn't be. They were two people who didn't think of Eun as a burden or 'just another kid'. They considered Eun as their own child and fooling them would take alot of effort.

Katherine walks towards Eun, who was peacefully sleeping on the mattress on the ground, picking her up, Katherine walked out the room. Jihoo follows behind them entering the living room.

"Hi. How are you two doing?" Katherine asks as she settles on the couch beside Seokjin, Eun still asleep in her arms. "We are doing great, Katherine ssi. How are you?" Namjoon asks barely paying any attention to Katherine, his entire focus was on Eun, more specifically her bandaged ankle.

"How did she get that?" Seokjin's voice brings Namjoon out of his trance and his gaze snaps towards Katherine. "She slipped on the step stool in the bathroom and sprained her ankle, my poor baby." Katherine says as she pulls Eun closer to her chest, pecking her forehead. "Oh, okay." Jin mumbles not understanding why Eun was left alone in the bathroom in the first place. He doesn't question it though. 'Not something you should be asking.' He reminds himself.
