Kobeni's sanity (y/n x kobeni)

Chapter one

I stared at the ever longing hallway full with people pouring in constantly chattering, I simply sighed while putting my headphones on in an attempt to block out the sound. Yet everyone  seemed to overcome the music blasting through my ears however I ignored this and pushed through the overwhelming crowd to get to class.

My feet dragged across the ground as I slowly walked towards the class room, luckily less people seemed to be near the classes and seemed more profound with indulging in their conversations.

"H-hi y/n" a quiet voice said sounding as if it was on the verge of crying. I quickly turned around to see someone who had hair clips which decorated her muddy brown hair.

"Hey Kobeni! Are you heading to class too" I said as I slid my head phones off my ears and allowed them to rest on my neck.

"Y-yeah! I was wondering if I-I can walk with you" Kobeni said seemingly proud of the fact that she had the confidence to ask.

"Of course you know you didn't have to ask Kobeni we've known each other for so long now" I said as I signaled Kobeni to start walking with me towards the classroom, she seemed like the only person in this school who had manners while everyone else seemed to enjoy doing their own thing and ignore the rules, however Kobeni.. she was one of my very few friends that I actually cared about.

"Um Y-y/n I have to tell you something" Kobeni said seeming to still be feared by my nonexistent menacing presence

"Hm, what is it?" I said as I slowed my pace

"W-well" she slowly began looking up finally making eye contact with me "I wont be a-able to go to c-college!" She yelled as if she was finally getting this off her chest after a long time which caused the very few people around us to stare but continued to walk.

I stopped dead in my tracks and looked down at Kobeni who was a few inches shorter than I was "HUH, WHY NOT?!" I yelled in shock

"W-well my parents want me to g-get a job...t-to pay for my brother's t-tuition" Kobeni said avoiding my eye contact

I sighed and began walking again "This sucks your parents are such assholes we could've went to the same college" I groaned as Kobeni followed behind me "Well, there's nothing much we can do about it let's hurry up to class" I said, Kobeni nodded and we both walked faster towards our classroom.

The bell rang almost screaming through my ears as everyone immediately stood up and grabbing their backpacks.

"Ok everyone enjoy your summer break be sure to be careful out there" the teacher said enthusiastically, however no one cared as they rushed out the classroom.

I sighed as I lazily threw my backpack over my shoulders and placed my headphones onto my ears as I left the classroom relieved that I had finally been freed from hell .

I opened up my locker and threw all my books and materials right into my bag similar to what most people were doing behind me. I slammed my locker shut while carrying the heavy bag over my shoulder as I approached kobeni from behind.

"Guess who" I said whilst I had my hands placed over kobeni's eyes

She let out a slight chuckle as she said "Y/n I already know it's you,who else does this everyday"

I sighed as I took my hands off of her eyes "Guess you caught me" I said as I watched Kobeni grab the last of her materials and throw them into her bag "You're parents picking you up today?" I asked while following Kobeni down the hall

"Y-yeah they are you know how they don't like seeing me around you" Kobeni said avoiding eye contact as if she was ashamed of her parents behavior

"Yeah yeah I already know the drill I'll just watch you leave while I'm in the school" I stated as mean and Kobeni arrived towards the door to the parking lot for the school

"Alright well I'll see you soon Y/n, I'll be sure to stay in contact" Kobeni stated while giving a small wave when exiting the school

I returned the wave as I watched Kobeni from the window enter her parents small red run down car that skid off the second she entered. I sighed as I left the school and began heading my typical route to my house.

The hot summer air pushed against me as I sluggishly approached my house, however the house or at least what used my house was decorated in flames and smoke fuming out of it.
