Passenger- Deftones

Alright so this is not exactly consensual but given the context it could be considered more CNC, the only difference being they never discuss anything beforehand. Given the context it will make sense but if that at all makes you uncomfortable please just skip this chapter. <3

This one's a little shorter than normal by the way.

Gerard was in a horrendous mood. He had been trying to cover it up and act like everything was fine but every little thing was beginning to make him irate. The sound of the cars' brakes squeaking as they stopped at the red light, the chatter of the people walking in the opposite direction. Every. Little. Thing. The collar of the crew neck he was wearing felt like it was choking him, the breeze was blowing strands of his black hair into his eyes and one shoe was looser than the other. Even the sun which probably made for a beautiful day for everyone else was making him feel ill. Buds of an oncoming headache were blooming behind his eyes as he and Frank walked down the road. He realized that he hadn't really contributed to the conversation in while yet his best friend was rambling on about his job and how he apparently hated Martha and how she totally deserved it.

Frank walked closer to Gerard as a couple passed them on the sidewalk to avoid bumping one of them but accidentally bumped into Gerard instead, which the latter would almost never mind since they were always touching each other, but he let out and aggravated sigh and stepped closer to the road, pulling his jean jacket tighter around him. Frank's rambling stuttered as he eyed Gerard slightly taking note of how stiff he had become and how the crease between his eyebrows was visible even though his expression was blank. Frank could see that something was wrong but brushed it off for now as he continued to talk. They made their way towards a coffee shop that Frank was familiar with. Thinking a nice cup of coffee may loosen Gerard up a bit he pulled his best friend inside. As they joined the line Frank continued to talk, becoming more aware of the fact that Gerard wasn't really paying attention. Something was seriously bothering him but Frank couldn't place the sudden cold mood.

They neared the front of the line just as Frank finished his story about how Martha was dumb as rocks and seriously probably made her own life harder. The barista called them up and Frank ordered a medium coffee with cream for the both of them seeing as Gerard was obviously in no mood to speak to strangers which wasn't that odd Frank supposed. The barista collected Frank's cash and told them it would be ready in a moment. Gerard followed Frank silently to a table near the window, sitting down with a heavy sigh.

"What's bothering you?" Frank broke the silence after a few moments of watching Gerard stare out the window.

"Huh? Oh nothing Frank." Gerard replied, pushing his hair out of his face in a subtly harsh manner, keeping his gaze towards the window. Frank knew he was lying but he decided not to prod at him for now.

The barista called their order and Frank stood up to grab it. Sitting down with the two drinks, he slid Gerard's drink towards him not even getting so much as a glance let alone a 'thanks' as Gerard took a drink. Frank sighed lightly and sipped on his own drink. He examined his best friend from across the table who was holding his warm drink in one hand and the other was rapidly tapping on the table.

They drank their drinks in complete silence. Not a word was spoken from either party although Gerard didn't entirely notice, the headache behind his eyes was throbbing with every ring of the bell above the door as a new customer entered. Frank spent the time contemplating the day, searching for anything that could have caused the shift in mood. He knew Gerard was reclusive at times and enjoyed being in the comfort of his own home or Frank's, but they had planned to go into downtown last week. Gerard had wanted to go out. Hell, he had suggested it. No one had been rude to them that Frank could place, so that surely wasn't it. They had also eaten about an hour earlier so unless Gerard had somehow become 16 again, he doubted his metabolism had somehow sped up today, meaning he couldn't just be hangry. Frank was at a loss. He sighed, turning his gaze out the window to people watch while they sat in their silence. Gerard had other plans though. He finished his drink quickly setting the cup down on the table more harshly than he meant to. "Can we go now?" Gerard asked, already standing up to leave.
