A new friend:)

CHAPTER 3

As everyone is still sleeping the morning sunlight shines through the opening inside the den - the sky has woken up. The sunlight could reach inside to where the little ermine and the dog are sleeping, everyone is sound asleep inside, but someone seems to be missing - it's the fox , he's gone out to hunt and get breakfast for his friends… A few minutes pass and he returns "there we go.." he says as he puts the prey he's caught "aaand... there." he put the grass down too - he didn't forget his non-meat eating friend , the caribu. “I hope Esther learns to eat flesh fast and gets used to eating raw mean most of the time – he won’t be eating  that fake, gross kibble anymore, yuck!” said the fox as he laid down in fron of the den’s opening and began waiting for his friends to wake up. A few more minutes passed and the fox got bored, he began chirping - "singing" like a bird, he appeared to be feeling lonely, he was alone because he woke up earlier than the others - he's a night beast so he can last long at night, he's used to waking up early, but why suffer like that when you can have a long and nice sleep?

The caribu heard the chiping noises and woke up but he stayed inside the den instead of going out to take some fresh air. The fox has rolled under a pile of snow so he doesn't fall asleep because of boredom - he didn't want to fall out of watch, he knew he had to be careful around these parts of the forest, there were many dangerous beasts that could attack at any moment. So staying hidden was a bold move - he knew he'd scare the predators away if he suddenly jumped out of the snow pile. "It's boring here even if i imagine that I’m inside an igloo.." he said as he got out of the snow pile - "It's cold enough anyway.." he was annoyed that there was no one he could play with. The caribu was watching what the fox was doing - "for mices sake! Stop staring holes into me you big wall! I can feel you staring miles away!" he said as he turned around to face the caribu. The caribu laughed at the way the fox said this, he found it funny how often he mentions the mices and how he called him a wall - the fox laughed as the caribu laughed - they were now laughing together, the fox is happy ang wags his tail fast "I like you big guy, you may be quiet but you're funny" he said as he laid down next to the now ruined snow pile - "Thanks, I like you too" the caribu replied. "Come on out and eat - I bought grass for you. I'll eat later when the others wake up"  said the fox as he chirped happily and continued to wag his tail - "Thank you" said the caribu as he got out of the den and sat down facing the fox and started eating his grass. "I hope the others wake up sooner - I can't wait to visit my brother and for you guys to meet him! After that we should totally go visit my friend at his lawn , the little deer I told you about." said the fox as he lagged his tail happily. "You’re really excited, aren't you?" said the caribu - "hah.. yes I am - I was known as the hyper child in my family, haha" he said as he chirped happily- "but this is nothing , you should see my brother go crazy! He's wayyy more active and hyper than me!" he said lagging his tail happily.
The ermine heard the winter birds singing and new snow falling with her small- but amazing ears. She opened her eyes and let out a small yawn. “Good morning fellow animals!” she greeted them as she stepped outside the den – the fox saw the ermine coming out of the den - "ermine!!" he shouted as he stood up and quickly went to his friend "how'd you sleep?"  he asked as he was lagging his tail - he appeared to be very happy to see his friend. “Hello friends!” said the ermine as she laughed at the hyper character of her fox friend. "Hello little one" the caribu greeted her aswell.
There was something odd this mornig though.. the fury friends heard a noise come from some bushes close to them - "Huh? I don’t remember being here last night, maybe it was just too dark for me to recognize" – said a beautiful black cat that has just woken up - gets out of bushes and gets snow all around them "argh..Is anybody here? Hello? well seems like not, well.. I can explore this place, can’t I?" it stepped further on the snow that was now covering our fury friends. "Excuse us!!" shouted the fox as he jumped out of the snow pile him and his friends where under - "oops.. didn't mean to shout at you.. may I know who you are little... cat?" he appeared to be confused, "another cat in the woods huh?" he thought to himself, he didn't think there were many cats this deep in the forest. "ARGH! oh? hello! last night I was going for a walk, I live on a tree that’s a five miles away, I don’t think we’ve ever seen each other before!" the cat seemed happy but the others were kind of confused – the caribu was just staring at the cat. "I better get going back to my treeplace, or else they will think I’m a kittypet" the cat got ready to run but the fox ran out before the cat could even move and cought it by its neck and held it above ground - it appeared that the cat was smaller then the fox. "I don't wanna hurt you, but you shouldn't have tried to run off - we're all friendly here, even this big guy over there - he may seems scary because he just stares at us , but overall he's real funny" muffled the fox as he was holding the cat - "my name's Fern, what's yours?" he asked as he put the cat down in front of his friends and smiled - he was wagging his tail again, he'd never been this close to a cat before so he was quite excited about it.
"Oh hello There, Fern! My name's Shirau! I hope I didn’t disturb you guys! Nice to meet you" said the cat as they sat down. - "Nice to meet you too! you didn't disturb us at all, we were just eating our breakfast - those are my friends" he said as he lagged his tail happily. His friends greeted the cat and welcomed them. "Can I join you? I’m kinda hungry" the cat was happy that they met such nice animals - "of course! there's a few mices I cought this morning" said the fox as he laid down next to his friends, in that time the fox girl woke up and could smell the mice , she went outside and joined them to eat – “Mmmm mice, the smell of mice.... Dead mice.” they said to herself. “Yum! Thank you!” said the cat and joined them to eat - "no biggie, enjoy your breakfast! and leave one for Esther, he's sure gonna be hungry when he wakes up!" said Fern as he started chewing on his mice. The caribu has already finished eating and was looking around , minding his own interests. The cat had finished eating “Thank you for the food Fern!” they said - "no problem... say Shirau, have you met any dogs before?" Fern asked not mentioning why but his friends knew he was asking because of Esther - see cats and dogs aren't always a great combo. "I’ve met a few when I still was a kittypet, this was a long time ago" replied the cat - "The humans tried to attack me, so I ran to the forest.. at such a young age – I’ve been here since my childhood, and I haven’t seen any dogs here yet, why do you ask?"
“Aw man, so many humans really do love hurting animals! I guess now I know why wildlife animals are wildlife....” thought the fox girl to herself , she feels a little bad for being there.  -- "See uh.. We have a friend - Esther, he's a dog, we helped him escape his bad owners - it's a long story.." said the fox as he sat up and looked to the ground - his tail wasn't lagging anymore and his ears were tucked down , was he worried about his friend? "That’s good that you helped Esther, its very nice of you, but.. What exactly happened?" Shirau seemed curious- "well uh... it's really a loooong story, hehe..." said the fox awkwardly, he seemed uncomfortable on the theme, like he didn't want to talk about it. "oh I see.. its okay if you don’t want to talk about it, Fern." the cat said comforting - "uh.. d-did you hear that? A bird , I think it was a bird! I'll go check it out.." he said as he ran off in the distance - he didn't even finish his mice - he had only bitten it's head off. Since he hadn’t finished his food the cat girl took it – seemed like she was very hungry.
"That was weird" – said the caribu as he tried to see where Fern had ran off to. "It sure was… did I say something wrong?" the cat’s ears were tucked down and they seemed upset. – The fox girl is now relying on the body language, she didn't really know how to calm a cat down besides head patting.... So that's what she did. Shirau feels comfortable when being patted by the girl "Thank you my friend" she meowed and purred happily – they were feeling better. As the ermine saw her dear friend run away, she felt that she needed to know why.  “Fern! Wait!” She ran after him until she was really close - she found him laid by a rock - he was whining in tears "stupid tears, stupid me.. stop crying dammit.." muffled the fox as he wiped his tears off with his paw and shoved his head in the snow. "be strong you little fox.. that's what mom was saying.. how should i be strong when you're gone now? heh... that horrible monster killed you right in front of mine and my brothers eyes.. he should pay.. I'd kill him if I could.." he curled up and whined more. It was obvious he hated the humans so much he didn't even want to mention them at all, only the fox girl was different, she was kind and wouldn't hurt him or his friends, she was the only human  he could trust. -- "Kaoruuuuu, where are youuu?" Those are the voices of the girl’s friends. They kept shouting, looking for her. The footsteps got closer. She has a worried look on her face, she didn't want to leave her animal friends... She had no clue how to explain anything, she just knows that her friends are nice, and she has to go for a bit and she can see them later. She really wants to know how to communicate to animals now.
