Chapter 8

Flashback moment
Jaden's pov
I pulled my car up to the sway house since the guys and I were going to hang out...well everyone except josh because he was going to go film with Dave which is weird since it's Saturday and they never film on weekends. Personally I think he was just trying to find an excuse not to be around me even though he's been back with nessa for three months and I thought we were moving past all the drama there's definitely still some tension between us but at least we can be in a room and not hit each other so I call that progress, kind of..it hurts me seeing them together but I am not going to just walk away either because the sway boys are my brothers so we are just going to have to figure out a way to work through all this tension. I parked my car, got off and started walking towards the house and opened the door and walked inside.

Bryce: hey bro (hugs him)
Jaden: hey where is everyone?
Bryce: game room, Noah and Blake are killing each other in GTA
Jaden: (laughs) alright I'll join you guys let me just use the bathroom real quick
Bryce: okay
Jaden's pov
I walked upstairs towards the bathroom and was about to open the door when I heard crying from the opposite end. I knew that cry anywhere so I softly knocked on the door.

Jaden: ness you okay?
Nessa: shit Jaden (stands up and opens the door, wiping her tears with one hand and hiding her other hand behind her back) sorry I didn't know you were here
Jaden: it's okay... why are you crying?
Nessa: no reason I am fine
(Nessa tries to walk out of the bathroom but Jaden blocks her)
Jaden: come on nessa we dated for a year I know when you are lying and I just heard you crying and I see you hiding something behind your back... you didn't did you?
Nessa: no no I I am clean
Jaden: (sighs) good so what's wrong?
Nessa: (looks at the floor with tears in her eyes) josh he he (cries)
Jaden: he didn't
Nessa: h h he was getting ready in the bathroom a and he t told m me he was going to film with d Dave but h he left h his phone on the n night table and it went off and and (cries)
Jaden: ( pulls her in for a hug) who was he talking to?
Nessa: Mads (sobs) s she asked h him if he w was coming over and s she sent him a pic in lingerie
Jaden: son of a bitch I am so sorry nessa, he's an idiot and he doesn't deserve you after you've given him so many chances
Nessa: that's not the worst part (sobs)
Jaden: what is it nessa? You can tell me I'll be here for whatever you need
(Nessa doesn't say anything but brings her other hand forward and gives him the pregnancy test)
Jaden: y y your p pregnant?
Nessa: (nods and starts crying again)
Jaden: it's his isn't it?
Nessa: (nods her head) what am I going to do Jaden (cries) I can't do this by myself I am to young, I have my career ahead a a and he's n not going to want to h help I I already know it (sobs and falls to her knees)
Jaden: (gets down on the floor with her) look at me janessa (lifts her chin) I promised you that I'll be here for you didn't I?
Nessa: yeah
Jaden: okay then if josh doesn't want to be part of the babies life I'll help you okay? (Holds her hands) I'll be with you every step of the way I promise and I'll help you with the baby together or apart I don't care but you have me okay?
Nessa: thank you Jaden (hugs him)
(Bryce walks out of the game room and sees them)
Bryce: what's going on here?
Jaden: nothing just helping her she was upset
Bryce: what did josh do now?
Jaden: he's cheating on nessa with Mads and Nessa's pregnant
Nessa: Jaden!
Jaden: what he's my best friend and practically your big brother he was going to find out eventually
Bryce: he's gotta a point... what are you going to do?
Nessa: break up with him
Bryce: I meant about the baby
Nessa: I I have to t tell him
Jaden: I'll still be here if you want me to be, I'll be downstairs or something
Nessa: I'd like that
Jaden: okay well we still have the rest of the day till josh comes and you have to tell him so in the meantime I am going to the bathroom and you go with Bryce okay?
Nessa: okay
Jaden: everything's going to be okay I promise
Nessa: I hope so
Bryce: you have our support to ness I hope you know that
Nessa: thanks Bryce
Nessa's pov
The rest of the day went by, we ordered pizza for lunch and now we were just watching Kevin Hart on the TV until the door opened and my nerves started getting triggered because I knew josh was home. Jaden looked over at me and gave me a reassuring smile and I took a deep breath as josh walked into the living room, he dabbed up the boys and then looked over at me before wrapping his arms around waist and pulled me in for a kiss but I moved my head before he could touch my lips knowing that his lips were just on Madison's. He furrowed his brows looking confused and then he just looked over at Jaden.

Josh: sup Jaden I didn't know you would still be here
Jaden: yeah I don't have to into the studio tonight so I just thought I'd be with the guys
Josh: cool (looks at nessa) can we talk upstairs?
Nessa: yeah I think that's a good idea (stands up from the couch and follows josh up to their room and she sits on the bed, there's a few moments of silence before she breaks it)
Nessa: where were you?
Josh: I told you filming with Dave
Nessa: tell me the truth
Josh: I am, what did you and Jaden do all day?
Nessa: you've got to be joking
Josh: no I am serious what did you guys do, did you talk?
Nessa: you have some nerve asking me about Jaden when you've been with Mads this whole day
Josh: what are you even talking about janessa?
Nessa: don't try and gaslight me right now joshua you left your phone on the table and
Josh: and you looked through my messages!!
Nessa: no I did not look through them! But the text messages from Mads popped up and she was in lingerie so you tell me were you with her (tears start streaming down her cheeks)
Josh: (sighs) yes I was with her but it was a huge mistake and I am sorry
Nessa: (scoffs) and I am supposed to believe that!? It's always I am sorry, it was a mistake it's the same sob story I have heard for years! God I was so stupid to forgive you
Josh: you don't mean that janessa I love you it really was a mistake, revenge sex that's all it was
Nessa: revenge sex!? What do you even mean joshua! What kind of excuse is that!?
Josh: a shitty one but seriously ness I am sorry please forgive me it won't happen again, I love you
Nessa: you don't hurt the people you love josh.. this is done we are done
Josh: so that's it then, we are breaking up because I made one dumb mistake
Nessa: it wasn't a mistake! You keep cheating on me!!
Josh: this was the last time I promise give me one last chance (holds her hands)
Nessa: you've had enough chances I am done josh and besides there's something more important we need to talk about?
Josh: what's more important than you breaking up with me
Nessa: I am pregnant
(Josh's face goes pale)
Josh: you are what?
Nessa: I am pregnant and obviously it's your baby
Josh: are you crazy janessa we are to young! You can't actually be considering on having it, you are at the peak of your music career I just got my first big movie role, this isn't happening get rid of it
Nessa: excuse you!? This is a baby joshua it's not an it and it's going to have a heartbeat you can't be serious
Josh: I am dead serious get rid of it I am not going to be a dad
Nessa: you know I expected this response but I had a little bit of hope you would prove me wrong but guess what I was the stupid one for thinking you changed!!
Josh: yeah you were and if you are keeping it don't expect me to help in anyway I mean seriously you are better off getting rid of it nessa make your life easier
Nessa: stop calling it and it!! It's a baby! Joshua and I am going to him or her whether you want me to or not!!
Josh: good luck being a single mother actually better yet why don't you and Jaden go run off and be a happy family (rolls his eyes)
Nessa: what does Jaden have to do with anything!?
Josh: I don't know why don't we go ask him (stands up and walks out of the bedroom and starts walking down the stairs) hey Jaden
Nessa: joshua would you stop it! (Runs downstairs) leave Jaden alone!
Josh: no no I want to ask him or better yet I'll just tell him
Jaden: what's going on I am so confused
Josh: you can have janessa back I know you still love her and you can take that thing inside her too
Jaden: hey wait a minute (stands up from the couch) I never said nessa and I would get back together and even if we did it doesn't concern you anymore since you cheated on her with Mads!!
Josh: (rolls his eyes) at this point I am glad I did because there's no way I am going to be a dad right now!! So like I said feel free to take janessa with you
(Jaden looks over at nessa who's starting to cry so he walks over to her and wraps his arms around her shoulder pulling into a hug)
Jaden: you know what josh I will be there for Nessa and I don't know if we'll get back together or not but regardless I promise that I am going to be there for this baby and step up to be their dad the way you couldn't
Josh: (scoffs) have a happy life then (storms upstairs and nessa starts sobbing)
Griffin: I am sorry nessa
Bryce: he was way out of line
Nessa: (whispers) it's okay (looks at Jaden) can we go?
Jaden: yeah (looks at the guys) I'll come pick up her stuff tomorrow, text me when he's not around
Noah: don't worry bro one of us will
Jaden: thanks
Nessa's pov
We left the house and it was only seven pm and I didn't feel like going to Jaden's house just yet.

Nessa: Jaden
Jaden: yeah?
Nessa: can we go to the studio?
Jaden: are you sure?
Nessa: yeah
Jaden: okay I'll hang out with Travis
Nessa: okay
Jaden's pov
My head was spinning from what just happened I knew josh was definitely going to have a reaction but I didn't think it was going to be that bad. I pulled up to the studio, parked the car and we got out and started walking to the studio room and when I opened it I saw Travis there writing lyrics.

Travis: hey Jaden, and nessa..
Nessa: hi Travis, I was just wondering if I could use the booth for a little?
Travis: yeah of course sweetheart you don't have to ask, go on inside, Jaden are you recording too?
Jaden: nah just thought I would hang out with you while she does her thing (sits on the couch while nessa goes into the booth)
Travis: are you guys okay? (Stops writing lyrics and looks at Jaden)
Jaden: you don't know the half of it (puts his head in his hands)
Travis: what happened?
Jaden: (scoffs) what didn't happen is the question first josh cheats on nessa with Mads of all fucking people (rolls his eyes) then nessa finds out she's pregnant and after all that josh doesn't want any part of the baby's life and I can't just up and leave nessa because she's the love of my life which means this baby is now apart of her
Travis: (smiles) I knew it
Jaden: knew what? Why are you smiling?
Travis: you still love her
Jaden: who said I stopped?
Travis: (shrugs his shoulders) I don't know you acted so nonchalant after the breakup I wasn't sure
Jaden: i had to be, I didn't want her feeling guilty for trying one more time with josh, I understood how hard it is to let go of your first love and I didn't want her with me if she was going to be thinking what if in the back of her mind you know
Travis: yeah but you have her back now
Jaden: no I don't not yet, if we get back together we are taking it slow, she's not emotionally prepared right now for me to sweep in and be Prince Charming
Travis: (laughs) you already did
Jaden: no I am just going to help her with the baby, the baby is innocent in all of this and they don't deserve to know what a piece of shit their real dad is (rolls his eyes) it makes me angry Travis
Travis: what makes you angry?
Jaden: that he fucked up again, did it hurt seeing them together? Yes but I didn't want him hurting her and then I have to pick up the pieces he broke and on top of that now I am about to raise his baby because he doesn't want to step up
Travis: that might be true but you'll also potentially get her back in your arms and then that little baby won't have to know their dad left because you'll be there blood or not if you want to be the baby's dad then do it but don't back out even when it gets hard
Jaden: I am not going to take any risks losing her again
Travis: good
Nessa's pov
I was in there recording for a few hours until I decided to stop for the night because it was getting late and I was hungry and tired. I set the headphones down and walked out of the booth.

Jaden: ready? (Stands up from the couch)
Nessa: yeah let's go, bye Travis (smiles)
Travis: bye ness and congrats by the way
Nessa: Jaden told you didn't he?
Travis: duh but don't worry your secrets safe with me
Nessa: thanks Travis
Travis: your welcome have a goodnight you two
Jaden: night (leads nessa out of the room)
Nessa: I am hungry can we stop before going to your house?
Jaden: yeah in and out?
Nessa: (laughs and shakes her head) finee
Jaden: yess (smiles and opens the car door for her)
Nessa: thank you kind sir (giggles)
Jaden: anything for the queen (jokes)
Nessa's pov
Fifteen minutes later we pulled up to in and out and we got cheeseburgers and fries and then Jaden starts driving the opposite direction of his house.

Nessa: where are we going?
Jaden: you'll see
Nessa: (smiles) okay
Thirty minutes later
Nessa: (looks out at the Hollywood sign) Jaden...
Jaden: I know how this looks but hear me out okay?
Nessa: okay
Jaden: I wanted to bring you here because this is our spot, this is where everything began the late night smoke sessions when we wanted to get away from sway, the deep talks we used to have, the first time we said I love you it's been here which is why I think this is the perfect spot to tell you that I am all in
Nessa: Jaden.. that's a big promise to keep
Jaden: I know and I don't care because the truth is nessa you are the love of my life, you always have been and I know you might not see it right now but I know you are going to be in my future, you are the love of my life janessa Barrett and one day I know you are going to have my last name and I am going to spend the rest of my life with you and our daughter or son
Nessa: Jaden I love you too (wraps her arms around him) i was so stupid to give josh another chance I am sorry I know that hurt you
Jaden: it did but I always had faith you would come back to me and right now I don't want to make anything official, neither of us are ready for that but I still wanted to come here and tell you what I was feeling and what I want for us
Nessa: I would want nothing more than to be your wife one day (smiles with tears in her eyes)
Jaden: don't cry you've done enough of that today (wipes her tears)
Nessa: I am sorry but what turned out to be what I thought was going to be the worst day of my life turned out to be the best day of my life
Jaden: (smiles) why is that?
Nessa: I am back in your arms
Jaden: I missed you so much (kisses the top of her head)
Nessa: me too
Nessa's pov
And so we just sat for hours in each others arms embracing the comfort and security we didn't have for three months until we saw how late it was getting and Jaden decided it would be best if we drive to his house now. Twenty minutes later we were there and he unlocked the door and showed me around the place which was surprisingly very neat considering cooper and Quinton lived with him also.

Jaden: you can shower if you want I'll leave you a hoodie and some sweats
Nessa: okay thanks (walks into the bathroom)
Nessa's pov
I got undressed and looked at my stomach which was obviously invisible right now but knowing there's a little life growing inside me is crazy. I wrapped my hands around my stomach and told myself that I was going to take care of myself throughout this pregnancy and I was going to do my best to protect him or her, and I really hoped Jaden keeps his promise too because I don't want this baby growing up without a dad. I got in the tub and adjusted the temperature and let my muscles relax from the long day I had. Eventually I washed myself, got out and got dressed and walked out of the bathroom.

Nessa: hey Jaden..
Jaden: yeah?
Nessa: do you mind if I... if we cuddle tonight I don't want to be alone
Jaden: yeah of course come here love (opens the sheets)
Nessa: (crawls in next to him and wraps her arms around his waist and lays her head on his chest) thank you for everything Jaden
Jaden: you don't have to thank me ness (kisses the top of her head) I love you
Nessa: I love you too
