The two boys walked to a cozy house on the coast. It had taken about an hour, and the walk was easy. Crow was jumping around the whole time, ecstatic from the dry weather. The grass itself was wet from rain, and the smell was heavy in the air. The clouds were still looming overhead, but Crow was able to stay positive. It didn't bug him all that much. The darkness felt nice too.
The house was made from stone, which was fairly outdated. There was light coming from the house, and banners were flapping on the sides of the door. They were dark blue with the same lightning bolt cutting through the clouds, like on Crow's cloak.
"Heya, what's that symbol for?" Crow piped up.
"Ah, that. It's the Storm Chasers symbol. How do you not know this, boy?" Felidae asked.
"... I don't pay attention well."
"We've been going to school for it for four years, and you never noticed this?" Raven reproached.
"I also never noticed that you were an only child."
"I AM NOT!"
"You so are."
"No!"
"You act so snobby and selfish."
"I-"
"And you're loud and rude. But I put up with you because I li-"
"Calm down, boys," Felidae interrupted.
Crow looked at Felidae with an upset look of disbelief. Could he not tell his roommate that he likes him? It isn't romantic in any way. 'We are just really good friends,' Crow thought to himself.
Crow looked over to Raven, to see what he was feeling. Raven was making a slightly pained and confused face, and Crow frowned at this. 'I didn't mean to hurt him. Maybe I need to be nicer?' Crow thought to himself. 'I was just telling the truth, though. He's so mean to me all the time, or at least when there's people around.' Crow shook his head.
Felidae opened the door, letting the boys in. Crow grabbed Raven's hand to catch his attention when they went inside. Crow squeezed his hand softly and looked at Raven's face again. His face seemed to relax at this, and it almost looked like he was smiling. Crow smiled and let go. 'At least he doesn't hate me,' Crow concluded.
The first person to see them was a tall woman. She looked 5'10", with black and wavy hair. Her hair rested at her shoulders, and her eyes were a bright sea green. She was very tan, most likely tanner than Crow himself. She immediately moved to a fighting stance when the boys entered, moving in front of a smaller, heavy set man.
"Who are you?" The woman yelled.
"Calm down, Orca. They can't hurt you. Well, Raven might be able to, but-" Felidae responded.
"Feli! You're back!" Orca exclaimed.
"What about it?"
"I-"
"I can't believe you, Felidae. Every single time, man," The heavy set man replied. He stepped in front of Orca, with a playful smile on his face.
"Fulmar! Where's Chameleon?" Felidae asked.
"He's on the couch, drinking tea. He obviously isn't as anxious as some people."
Fulmar, the heavyset man, was roughly two inches smaller than Orca. His eyes were a dark gray, with light gray hair. His hair swooped up, naturally staying out of his eyes. He looked more built than Orca overall. Crow moved to the front, with a small smile on his face. These people seemed really nice. 'I could get used to these guys,' Crow noted in his head.
