Crow found himself staring at the calendar. It had been two days since the thundersnow. It was now Torrentsday, and the weather matched that. Rain was storming down, causing a pleasing pitter patter on the roof.

He sighed and marked Stormsday and Leafsday off the calendar. 'I feel like I'm always counting down to something,' Crow pensively thought. 'I just hope that Raven can be around for all of it.' He smiled and capped his pen, moving on to make breakfast.

He thought he did everything right. Not too long after he put the batter in, it started to burn. At least it didn't feel too long after. Soon enough, Raven had woken up and rushed into the kitchen.

"What did you do?!" Raven yelled, trying to put out the flames.

"I tried making pancakes!"

"You can't cook!"

"DIO MIO, I CAN DREAM, OK?" Crow tried to help by squirting the flames with water, but Raven ended up throwing the pan into the sink. He turned on the water, putting the fire out. The two looked at each other, tired. Crow started laughing, and Raven followed soon after.

"You are so dumb!" Raven laughed.

"I know. I just wanted to be nice."

"Good on you for trying."

"Thanks?"

"So, do you still want pancakes?" Raven asked after catching his breath.

"Aye! You make good food."

"Of course I do! I-"

"Entitled only child things, I get it."

"For the last time-"

"You're so independent. You have to have been an only child. That, or an orphan. Are you an orphan?"

"No. In fact, my parents are still very alive. Yet again, I wasn't an only child."

"Yeah, right..." Raven made an upset noise at this, and Crow chuckled. Raven went to angrily make the pancakes, mumbling to himself. Once they were done, he placed the plate of pancakes on the table. He then sat down, looking at Crow expectantly. Crow shook his head and happily took some pancakes, eating away.

"So, how are they?" Raven questioned as he took two pancakes, drowning them with syrup and honey before eating. Crow answered by stuffing his mouth full with another pancake.

"I guess that answers my question," Raven chuckled. He set his own plate on the table, and Crow bounced up and down happily.

"What are you doing that for?" Raven asked.

"I'm happy."

"It really doesn't take much to please you, does it?"

"No, not really. We've been working for four days."

"I see. You've been counting?"

"Aren't we all counting down to something?"

"Not unless you plan on dying soon."

Crow went to speak again, but just stuffed another bite into his mouth. He didn't want to say any more to Raven about this subject. Raven looked at Crow, but Crow avoided his gaze. He sighed and finished eating, jumping out of his seat. He quickly went to get ready for the job.

Crow entered the bathroom, washing his face at the sink. He looked into the mirror, his old wound scabbed over. 'I can't mess up like that ever again,' Crow thought to himself. 'If I do, my name can't live on. What else do you have when you're gone?' He angrily slammed his hands on the sink.
