As they neared the end, Willow continued screaming, but her throat was getting hoarse. Her cries sounded more pitiful now, and soon they died out. Willow had stopped. Brooklynn stopped Porter with a hand on his arm. They could barely not see Willow around another corner, but they knew she was there. They could feel it. They could also hear her wrangled breathing. It was rapid and panicky, yet, she made no noise. After a few seconds, Brooklynn decided to go ahead and save Willow, whatever she would have to fight. She turned and mouthed to Porter "I'm going. I don't know if there's anything here anymore". He mouthed back. "Be careful. I'll be right beside you". He moved up and he and Brooke prepared for take-off. 3-2————1! Brooke struggled to get back to her feet. She was determined to make sure Willow was safe. Once on her best foot again, she raced around the hedge. Porter grabbed for her foot to stop her, but she was just out of his reach. He scrambled up, scratching at the thick, layered, thorned vines that made up the walls of the maze. He was frazzled! But one single thought still took over his mind: Save Willow. He raced around the corner and beheld the scene that was taking place. Willow, oh willow
