Through mud

Somewhere in Russia...

The smell of mud and blood is in the air while there's a downpour from the sky. Death and pain is all around but something is rising from the ashes.

Qilin POV

Qilin: agh... my head...

I looked around but noticed that I was in a very tight room. I'm lucky that I'm not claustrophobic.

But then the smell hit me. It smelled like shit in here. I opened the hatch above me before I would puke from the foul smell.

I noticed that I was inside a dumpster and the warm rain was now pouring on me. I looked around but the sight may makes some crawl back into the dumpster but not me.

I vaulted out of the dumpster and looked around. A bunch of massacred soldiers were here. They were wearing green rudimentary armor.

I walked up to one and analyzed him.

He used an AK-12 and Russian style armor. Haven't seen one of these in a long time. But then it hit me.

I raised my head towards the sky and it was a dark blue instead of the bright red I was used to.

Damn... reality is proper fucked now.

I reached for my radio.

Qilin: Butch? Lockjaw? Shadow? Does anyone copy? Anyone there?

Radio: ...

Qilin: Damn it...

I hate doing this but I guess I have no choice. I activated the emergency transmission device in my shades. I should be sending a feed now to HQ if I'm able to reach them. If not then I at least have a recording of my journey when someone discovers my corpse.

I need to be careful now. I need to find my squadmates but there something deadly around that I should avoid.

I grabbed my Scar that was still slung on my back and exited the graveyard I was currently standing in.

I was in some sort of city but it seemed long abandoned. The cold wind was blowing through the streets while rain poured down. I decided to go along a road and followed it. I need to get out of here.

Qilin: I don't know if this is reaching you boys but nothing here seems familiar. Everything is so different to what I'm used to seeing in Nevada. Damn... guess I'm documenting everything now...

Everything was so damn quiet. Only the sound of the rain and my boots hitting the ground could be heard.

I was on edge and my guns were ready. This environment is screaming hostility.

This is going nowhere. I need to see where I'm actually going. I picked out a rather large building from where I could scan my surroundings from.

I slowly and methodically approached it. I can't take any chances if I'm the only N51 unit active in this sector. I don't know if the others are stumbling around here too or if I'm alone.

I reached the destroyed building and started to climb the intact stairs. I reached the top floor and the wall was missing and provided good enough Overwatch over this rotten city.

I sat down next to the edge of the building and started to have a look around. This city is pretty big. Reminds me of Nevada Central. But this can impossibly be it right? On stores and other signs are symbols that are not English so this can't possibly be Nevada.

I took my backpack off and placed it next to me. I pulled a pen out and started to draw on the floor. It somewhat resembled what the Layout of the city is. Important waypoints have been marked and I should now have a better idea of where I'm going.
