I sat in front of the fire, trying to warm myself.

The sun was setting.

I was in the middle of the woods, trying to stay away from The Guard.

I knew I wasn't going to get that far. They were trained for this. And especially since it was i was the princess. The amount of energy they were going to put into trying to find me, there was no way I could stay away.

I laid down next to the fire, far enough away so my clothes didn't catch on fire.

I sighed.

 I missed Maddie.

I hated myself for lying to her. I knew that no matter what I did now, there was no way she would still trust me after.

I closed my eyes trying to get myself to fall asleep.

I jerked awake, glancing around.

There was no one other than me and my horse.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself.

I stood up, stomping out the little fire that was still there.

As I was going all of these all I could think about was Maddie.

Her caramel colored hair. Her icy blue eyes. Her short frame.

I missed her so much.

I hated myself for getting attached.

I untied my horse from the tree and led him over to the river, letting him drink.

After he was done, I hopped back on his back and started riding, honestly not trying that hard anymore not to get caught.

I had lost everything already.
