I woke up and my head was pounding against the concrete floor I was laying on. I groaned out stretching out my back and arms. I sat up and my throat burned from dehydration.
I swallowed a few times to relieve the burning and blinked to break down the pressure building in my eyes. There was a bright light hanging from the tall ceiling and a mirror on the wall opposite from a grey door.
I looked in the mirror catching a slight glimpse of my bloodshot eyes, crazed and wild. The bruise forming on my cheekbone and forehead. I sighed before examining the room in search of any cameras. In the top left corner of the room I see a camera with a red blinking light signifying that it was on and watching me.
I look towards the grey door and make a move towards it before it begins to open. I don't make a move backwards instead I stay still my feet planted into the concrete floor standing tall.
The man from last night, except now I can see his face perfectly. A pale face with dimples that formed at any slight movement of his face. I stared for a while before realizing where I was again.
Cooped up in a dark concrete room, a man who had kidnapped me standing just across from me. The silence is so loud until my voice cuts through it.
"Where the hell am I? And who the hell are you?" I ask my voice almost coming out as a whimper because of my dry throat. He merely scoffs before actually responding,"You think you deserve an explanation? You interrupted what I was doing."
I have the sudden urge to run. I have the chance, the door is right behind his back and all I have to do is get past him. Easy.
I move step by step inching closer and closer before I run and thrash out of his strong hold. Out the door and past him, running down the hallway not even sparing a glance behind me.
Like I said. Easy.
I glance to the side at a doorway before turning the knob and opening the door. I step in and close the door slowly and silently. I look around to see dark furniture. A desk with a chair behind it and some paperwork on top of it. I don't even think again before going behind the desk and ducking under the top.
My head was fully under but suddenly spinning. Probably from the running, I hear shuffling behind the door until someone rattles and turns the door knob.
The door swings open and I hold my breath.
There's shuffling until someone bangs on the top of the desk and curses under their breath. I flinch slightly and heave the breath slowly and silently.
Whoever the person was began to walk around the desk and picked up a phone off the desk before sitting on a chair that had been behind the desk but in front of me.
The second they dial a number their gaze shifts down to me. His eyes were hard with anger and he grabbed ahold of my shaky wrist and dragged me towards the door and through the hallway.
We passed lots of doors that I hadn't payed attention to at first but now I was thrashing and wishing for a chance to hide behind one of the dark wood doors.
We reached the grey door that I had escaped from what only feels like seconds ago. I watch as he grips the knob of the door before flinging it open and throwing me against the rock hard concrete.
I whine in pain when my face comes in contact with the floor and I lift my face from the floor before reaching my hand up to feel around my face for scars.
Blood is gushing out of my nostrils and my lip has a deep cut that is already puffing up. I pull my now bloodied hand away from my face and my chest heaves with rage as I look at the crimson color standing my hands.
I get up to my feet only to groan when I feel lots of pressure and pain on my legs. I look down to see that my knees are scraped and bleeding a bright red from the pebbles on the ground of where I fell. There are also new bruises running up and down my pale legs.
I look back towards the door where he is still standing, I blink once and the door is slammed and he is gone.
I cup my hands around my knee and it stings from the sudden weight on the scar. I reach to the bottom of my shirt and rip a piece of and wrap it around my knee to keep it from getting dirt in it.
I stand and my legs shake but I continue and wince in pain before being able to walk completely without focusing on the pain to much.
I'm limping around the room a little bit more before the door opens and a first aid kit is thrown across the floor past my feet and colliding with the concrete wall opposite of the door.
I limp a few feet further until I'm looking down at the dented white box with a big red cross in the center of it. I crouch over the box and open it up to see bandages and antiseptic creams.
Soon after a water bottle is thrown in and slides on the floor before hitting my foot. I grab it and take a few sips before sitting fully on the ground and taking out the bandages.
I take the ripped cloth from my shirt off of my leg and wrap the bandages around the scar while I wince in pain. My heart is pounding in my throat and I take deep and heavy breaths to elevate the tension and tears burning my eyes. The door is already shut but I stare at it for a while.
I roll my shoulders and get up again. Looking around the room my eyes almost immediately catch on the camera. I bend over and grab the first aid kit and limp over to the camera. I look up and throw my arm back before swinging it forward and knocking the camera off of the wall.
Perfect.
