Oliver had brought Mia and William to Russia along with Laurel to help them find the piece of tech and machinery that the Time Monitor needed to prep for the Crisis. Oliver also brought his adult children with him in order to spend time with them before he had to sacrifice himself. However, the Monitor had been watching over them and was not happy with how much attention Oliver was paying to his children, particularly his unruly daughter.

Just as Mia reached for the Bratva bell to ring it she disappeared in a white flash and the Monitor appeared in her place. The remaining conscious Bratva members ran for their lives while Oliver broke himself out of his chair. "What did you just do?" He roared.
"I brought her to you. But, I now realise that was a mistake. I have taken Mia away."
"Bring her back!" Oliver demanded.
"Once your mission is complete."
"When my mission is complete I will be dead."
"Hmm." And with that he was gone.

Suddenly, Oliver heard a scream and Laurel burst the door open. "Where's Mia?" She asked looking around and seeing Oliver alone.
"She's gone." Oliver said despondently.
