A/N - This chapter is sweetish, too.
--
Two days have passed and you've done what you could to keep yourself busy. Paperwork, working out, the shooting range, you name it. Movie nights with Soap and Gaz were fun, but, without the captain and Ghost, it felt different. Your mind wandered and even worried, but you knew deep down that they would be okay.
You went to sleep hesitantly, almost hoping Ghost and Price would be back by now.
--
Around 0300, Ghost and Price returned to the safe house where everyone was sleeping. Ghost walks up to your door, and cracks it open. He watches you peacefully sleeping, you lying on your side with your hand resting between your thighs. Almost smiling at the thought of you like that next to him, he steps closer, setting what he had in his hands down on your nightstand. He takes one last look at you and walks away.
--
You wake up in the morning and spot stuff that wasn't there before on your nightstand. Your vision unblurs and you focus on the items. Your eyes light up as soon as you notice a rose and a jewelry box. Aww, how sweet, this must be from Ghost.
You sit up and take the rose, smelling it. Then open the jewelry box. Immediately your hand clutches your heart as you see the necklace with a silver skull charm and a copy of his dog tags.
"Aww... That is so sweet," you whispered to yourself, unable to contain your smile. You instantly put it on, and place the rose back on the nightstand. You get up and dressed and quickly make your way to the common room, scanning the area for Ghost. He was talking to Soap and Gaz until he spotted you as well, freezing in place. Immediately running up to him, you jumped up, wrapping your arms around his neck, with your face in his chest. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
He barely heard what you said as your voice was muffled, but he hesitated to hug you back. Halfway because of the others but mostly because he wasn't used to this. You stayed like that for a moment until the chattering subsided, he set you down as you looked behind to the captain entering the room.
"Meeting, guys," he instructed, gesturing us to follow.
--
Arriving into the conference room, you take a seat in a corner and Ghost sits next to you, Soap and Gaz alongside the other corner. While Price is sorting out folders and mumbling to himself, the three guys chit-chat about work and you grab a pen and sticky notepad and doodle on it.
Deciding to ignore the men next to you, you focus on Price's details of upcoming missions and zone in on your doodles. Giggling to yourself, you doodled a few variations of skulls, even one with cat ears on it, a diamond matching with cat ears, a bar of soap and stick figures with bear faces, one with a hat to distinguish the difference between the captain and Gaz.
Ghost's hand found itself on your thigh, causing you to jump and then soon relax as he comforted you. You found it cute that he found subtle ways to show his feelings for you. Ghost looks over at your doodles and breaths a huff of air as he laughed. You slid it over to Ghost and Soap was keen on it as he looked at it too, soon whispering, "Is that everyone?!"
You nodded your head, giggling softly.
--
Everyone soon joined in the common room to work on paperwork together in comfortable silence with Friends reruns playing in the background. Ghost glanced over at Soap's progress and told him his handwriting looked like shit.
"Cannae barely read yours either, L.T!" Soap retorted, looking at yours. "Look at miss fancy pants o'er here."
You scoffed as you looked at the men's chicken scratch, "I'm not fancy, I just don't write like... men."
"Oh, oh, alright," Gaz playfully joked. "I see how it is."
"I'm just sayin'," you held your hands up, feigning innocence.
--
That night you had hoped for you and Ghost to have some alone time, but seeing how everyone was holding out on staying in the common room, it wasn't going to happen. You took notice of how you felt your superior's eyes on you, though. The others, too. It's almost as if they were watching what kind of conversation you and Ghost were having through your eyes. You stayed up for as long as you could until you couldn't fight your eyes anymore, and got up to head to bed.
"Night, boys," you yawned, stretching your arms above your head.
"Night," Gaz and Soap said in unison.
"Aren't ya gonna walk yer woman to bed, L.T.?" Soap playfully sneered in Ghost's direction.
Ghost shook his head, making eye contact with you. "Goodnight, Diamond."
You smiled at him as you took off to shower and call it a night.
