"No, no, no. You're wrong. You're totally completely wrong." Clint and Percy were arguing. Again. It seemed never ending these days.
As Percy's 21st birthday loomed closer-and with it the anniversary of the battle of Manhattan- the woman was getting antsy. Her days were work filled and her nights were restless.
The rest of the Avengers were at a loss. They hated to watch her suffer, but they just didn't know how to help. Tony was a particular reck, he'd been dating Percy for close to two years and her birthday is just not something he knows how to deal with.
"I don't give a damn if I'm wrong Clint. You're being an obtuse asshole. Just let me do my job how I see fit and I'll leave you to yours." Percy had a mountain of paperwork sitting in front of her, a plate of heart shaped waffles to her left, and a large cup of coffee to her right.
"Also, how do you know I'm doing it wrong? You can't even read it! It's in Greek!" She took a large pull from her coffee and looked over to continue glaring at the archer.
"I can just tell." Was Clint's only response
"You are the most annoying person on the planet. I hope fury sends you on a mission that gives you worms." Percy looked back at her paperwork, ignoring the sputtering man on the counter.

Tony woke to rustling, followed quickly by soft footsteps and the sound of running water from behind the now closed bathroom door.
He groaned as he stood, his back stretching uncontrollably as he made his way to the bathroom.
"Percy? Sweetheart what's wrong?" He cracked open the door and his heart broke a bit at the sight of his girlfriend laying with her cheek resting on the porcelain of the toilet.
Her eyes are bloodshot and there were dark smudges of color underneath them. Her face was covered in tears, both drying and fresh. Her pajama bottoms were bunched around her knees and her tank top was twisted.
She looked seconds away from fading into the darkness that threatened to swallow her whole.
"Oh, honey." The man was on his knees beside her in seconds, there to catch her as a sob caught in her throat.
"I just want it to be over Tones. Please I just want it to be over." The hero cried into the shirt of the man she loved. He was her safe place. "Every time I close my eyes I see them. We were children. Children fighting a war that was not ours to fight. They didn't deserve that. They deserved to get to grow old and grey and now they're just-"
She was cut off by another sob as it ripped at her throat. She couldn't seem to stop it. She'd held it in for so long and now it was all just tumbling out of her without her permission.
Tony just sat with her. Her head on his chest and her tears soaking his shirt as he ran one and up and down her spine and the other rubbed at the back of her head.
"I know sweetheart. I know. I'm so sorry you ever had to go through that. I'm sorry you are still going through it. I'm right here baby, let it out." Tony's voice was a constant whisper of gentle reassurance. A calm splitting through her anguish.
"You think you're up for going back to bed? We don't have to sleep." He added the last part quickly as the woman curled into him shook her head. "We don't have to sleep, we can just lay there and cuddle."
"Please."
"Of course, my love"
