Twins

Alexandra and Nicole went in the backdoor of Helena and Carlos home and into the kitchen. His parents were seated at the kitchen island having a Happy Hour drink and snacks. "Hi Alex, hi Nikki." Helena jumped up and hugged them one at a time. "Good to see you two. Do you want to do dinner with us? We were just trying to decide where to go for dinner, I didn't feel like cooking and it is Gretchen's day off."

"Sure, that sounds great." Alexandro said excitedly. "We have news! Try to guess first!" Nicole laughed at Carlos's stunned expression. Helena clapped her hands.

"You are having a baby!" She was grinning at the pair hoping that was their news. Alexandro pulled the ultrasound picture out of his pocket and handed it to his mom. She gasped and showed it to Carlos. "Twins! Oh my gosh! That is so exciting! When are you due Nicole? I can't wait to be a grandmother! Can I be their obstetrician? I am so happy for you two!" Helena hugged them both and grabbed her phone.

"Who are you calling mom?" Alex asked, he didn't want anybody out of the family to know yet.

"Your brother in law and sister. We have something special to celebrate. We need to have a family dinner."

"I already called them." Alex smiled at his mom. "They should be here soon." The back door opened, and Sebastian and Stephanie came in. "Hey guys! Good news! Nicole and I are having twins!" Stephanie grabbed Alexandro in a fierce hug then grabbed Nicole. Sebastian picked up Nicole and twirled her around.

"Awesome! I can't wait! When will they be here? I hope you have two boys! I can't wait to be the fun uncle!"

"You will be their only uncle." Alex said drily. Stephanie was crying. "What's the matter Steph?" He put his arm around his sister and wiped her tears.

"I am so happy for you two! ." She sobbed. "Sorry, emotional overload." Nicole walked over to her and hugged her sister in law and rubbed her back.

"Since you have extra time on your hands now Stephy, maybe you would like to help us decorate the nurseries." Nicole said hoping that the fun task would distract her.

"Oh, that sounds great! Yes, I will help. I can call Monique Lhuillier's office and see if she will take you on as a client, especially if you have a girl. She makes the sweetest girls' rooms you have ever seen." Okay now Steph was distracted with a project, she would be fine. At least the tears stopped.

"Hey, let's go out to dinner to celebrate. We need to try that new Italian place downtown." Carlos wanted dinner and he wanted to have dinner with his whole family. He missed his kids since they moved out and had jobs and now Alex had a family on the way. He might not say much but he noticed things, he knew his wife missed having all their kids at home.

"Can I drive your new car Mom?" Stephanie asked. "We should all be able to fit in that giant SUV." Carlos had bought Helena a new Cadillac Escalade for her last birthday. They didn't use it very much since Helena preferred her smaller Mercedes to drive to work.

They all piled into Helena's new car and left the house. The restaurant wasn't too far from their home so they made it there in under 20 minutes. They parked and went in the restaurant not realizing the scene they were causing by being all together. The paps didn't get the opportunity to photograph the whole Romano family very often, they weren't out together in public very much.

They were seated in the back of a semi private room and placed their orders. They were munching on the Italian nachos while waiting for their food. "Were you two surprised to find out you were having twins? Do twins run in your family Nicole?" Sebastian asked. "I think that is so cool!" He was still stoked about being an uncle.

"Twins run in my family on my dad's side." Nicole said then took a sip of her sparkling water. "My grandma was a twin."

"Alexandro have you ever thought about Nicole being a housewife now that she is pregnant.and sell the company ? Who knows, after birth you might wanna stay at with the kids." Stephanie said rather loudly. Helena shushed her.

"Now is not the time to discuss that Steph.

She smiled a tiny smile. "It's really okay. Now, let's talk baby names."

No idea what to name them if they are two girls or two boys. I just have a feeling it is one of each." Nicole smiled wistfully. "I had a dream about them last night, before I even knew there were two in there." Nicole patted her still flat tummy. "We were playing with them outside and they were running around the yard. They were laughing and having a great time blowing bubbles."

Helena wiped her eyes and Carlos handed her a handkerchief. "I can't hardly wait. When do you go back to the doctor? Can I go with you?"

"Yes you can go. Maybe we can have another ultrasound so you can see the babies." Nicole said happily. The waiter came with their food and served them and left to get more drinks for everyone. Alexandro's phone buzzed with a text mesage from gabriela.

"John is outside the restaurant. Apparently, word got out we were here as a family having dinner. The paps are waiting for us to come out. The manager won't let them in the restaurant though."

"Damn it!" Nicole said softly, "I couldn't get in touch with my Parents. Their phone went to voicemail. I wanted to tell them myself not on voicemail. Now they will see it on E!News or on the internet." Nicole wiped a tear from her eye and Alexandro passed her his handkerchief.

"Hey, baby. Maybe we can invite them here to visit once they call back." Alexandro rubbed her back.

"Chanel is driving in tonight to spend a few days with us. She was super excited to be a Aunt. She said she might move closer so she could spend more time with the babies." Nicole rolled her eyes at the mention of Nephews. She said she was sure there were two boys in there.
