- Kennedy's P.O.V -

"Here you go," Harry sighs, parking the car in front of Hylton Prep. I sigh and look down at my clasped hands.

"Do I have to go?" I ask, looking up at him. He nods his head and I roll my eyes.

"I have a feeling people might judge me for these," I say, pointing at my snake bite piercings. It took me the whole weekend to convince Harry to letting me get them.

"Well, that's their fucking problem, isn't it?" Harry smiles and I smile back. I've started to get used to him.. I guess.

"Yeah, I guess." I shrug my shoulders and stare out the window.

"Kennedy, you're going to be late if you don't go now," Harry spoke up. I groan, but open the car door and get out. I turn towards the school, but Harry stops me.

"Hey, if anyone gives you trouble, I'm only a phone call away." I nod and start my way towards the school. I stop at the doors and look back at Harry, who is giving me a reassuring smile. I smile back even though I want to run the other way instead of going in. Hey, I've gone to a run down school with bullies that've bullied me for 6 years, cut me some slack.

I finally open the doors and search for main office. I quickly find it and I walk there fast so I don't have to deal with other kids. A middle-aged lady sits at the front desk and when she sees me, she smiles and motions me to come over.

"Can I help you?" Her voice is soft and smooth. I instantly smile.

"Uhm, yes. My name's Kennedy Styles and I'm the new student here." I shift my book bag to my other shoulder and watch as she types on the computer.

"Ah, yes, Styles. Your first period is Geometry with Ms. Langley. I'll call for someone in that class to take you there and show you where the rest of your classes are. For now, you can sit in the couch right there," she says, pointing to a black couch near the door. She hands me my schedule and turns to the phone behind her. I walk to the couch and sit down. I'm mindlessly looking at the posters in the office: some for creative writing, the school mascot (eagles), for clubs and sports. My eyes instantly catch the art poster. I love art, as you can see by now. I stare at how beautiful it is and I don't notice a tall boy walk in.

"Kennedy?" The lady speaks up and I jump.

"Y-yes?"

"This is Owen, he'll be showing you to your geometry class and will be walking you to your other classes," she says while pointing to the boy. The boy, Owen, turns around and my breath instantly hitches.

I can tell he's not one of those muscular guys, but he's not scrony. He's in the middle and his height helps him out more. His hair is light brown and it's long enough to be flipped. His eyes are in between a light brown and hazel color, but his hair makes them seem darker. Whoa, I find this guy really attractive. His clothing makes him look even better, consisting of khaki pants, grey long-sleeve shirt, and Sperry's.

The lady clears her throat and I blush. I made it obvious that I was checking him out. I look at him and his eyes are traveling up and down my body. He's making it obvious that he's checking me out and he smirks.

Then he looks back up at me and grins, "ready to go?"

I nod and follow him out the door. I make sure to stay a few footsteps behind me because as much as I think he's attractive, he's a guy.

"Where'd you come from?" Owen asks, interrupting my thoughts.

I clear my throat, "London."

"Ken, I meant what school," he chuckles. I feel my cheeks redden and I look down. Wait, did he just call me Ken?
