- Kennedy's POV -
"And this," Harry paused, pushing his apartment door. "Is your new home."
He stepped to the side, letting me go in first. I stayed close to Taylor, not wanting to be near Harry. He sighed and looked down. I could see the pain in his eyes, but I just can't seem to trust him.
I entered their flat and looked around. It's a big flat, I'll tell you that, with a black colored couch and a wooden coffee table. The carpet was a light brown, but there was wooden floor in the hallway. A huge glass wall was on the right side, letting you see London. I walked over to it and looked out. I lightly smiled, seeing the scenery of London at night.
"It's beautiful," I whispered.
"Do you like it?" Harry asked.
"Yes."
I walked into the kitchen and leaned on the granite counter.
"Nice place you've got here." Harry nodded and gave me a small smile. Then, silence took over. An awkward silence.
"Well," Taylor clasped her hands together. "I'm going to bed. Good night." She kissed Harry on the cheek, making me look away.
I never really liked Haylor.
"Goodnight, Kenzie!" Taylor chimed, walking away to their room.
"It's Kennedy!" I corrected. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"Can you show me where my room is?" I asked, looking at Harry. He didn't respond. He kept looking down.
"Harry?" I walked over to him and snapped my fingers in his face. Harry's head snapped up. He looked at me with wide eyes, like he was surprised that I was speaking to him.
"Y-yeah? Sorry, I lost my train of thought for a moment."
"I, uhm, need to know where my room is." I've never had a conversation as awkward as this one.
"Oh! Okay, yeah, it's just down the hall, last room on the left." He flashed me a small smile and me being me, had to smile back.
I grabbed the only luggage that I had and made my way to my new room. With a groan, I threw my luggage on my bed. I sighed and looked around. The room was quite big. Big enough for me. The bed was a full sized bed with a night stand next to it.
A window was on the wall further from the door. A window bed was also there. In front of the bed was a flat screen tv with a dark, cherry clored dresser. A full-lengthed mirror hung on the closet door. I walked to the closet, opening the door and switching on the lights. When the lights fully turned on, I gasped.
Holy flippin' shit.
It's a walk-in closet.
I'm excited because it's a huge closet! Soon, it's going to be filled with clothes. I may be a bit of a tomboy, but I am extremely fashionable. I ran out of the closet and jumped on my bed. I sighed and smiled. I might not trust Harry, but that won't ruin my happiness of actually being adopted.
- Harry's POV -
I groaned and threw myself on the couch. I closed my eyes and sighed.I'm happy I adopted Kennedy, but I didn't know it was going to be tough to gain her trust. The poor girl can't even look me in the eye. But, I wouldn't blame her. Her childhood was basically ripped away with her father raping her and being the murderer of his own wife. A small tear glided down my cheek. I just wish that Kennedy will find the trust for me because I'm not like her father. But, it's also my duty to gain her trust.
I pulled my phone out and scrolled through my contacts, clicking one the one person I should at least call. It ringed for about two times before someone picked up.
"Harry, darling! How are you?" I rolled my eyes and chuckled.
"Louis, you sound like my mum. And like an old person. So, shut up." I could feel the roll of his eyes.
"What do you want, dimple freak?" Louis laughed.
"I need help," I said.
"With your sexual relationship with Taylor?! Mate, I think you can figure it out." I nearly let out a loud gag when those words went through the phone.
"Ew, no! I need your help with a girl. A girl named Kennedy."
"The name sounds familiar.. Who is she?" Louis asked. I bit my lip and closed my eyes. He is totally going to flip out once I tell him.
"Kennedy is an orphan... Well, was an orphan until she became my adopted daughter." The line went silent after those words left my mouth.
"Louis?"
"YOU DID WHAT?! HARRY! WHEN?! HOW?! WHAT?! ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE?!" Louis yelled, making me pull my phone away from my ear.
"I adopted Kennedy.. Today.. I signed papers at an orphanage, and because I wanted to fix her. At the signing, she looked broken. And Louis, that girl is broken," I responded.
Louis sighed, "I'm happy for you, but who is going to keep the girl when you and Taylor break up? If you break up. What is management going to say? I bet you didn't even talk to them about this! What are the media, fans, and all those people going to say when they find out? Harry, you have to keep this girl protected."
Louis was right. I haven't thought about all the things he said. My only concern was to fix this teenage, broken girl.
"First of all, her name is Kennedy, not 'this girl'. Second of all, I know me and Taylor are going to end things sooner or later, but I'm the one that is going to keep Kennedy. I'm her main guardian and she's under my name, Styles. She has my last name, Louis! And third, I have no idea what I'm going to do with management, the media, the fans. I didn't care about all that when I was adopting Kennedy. I just cared about making her happy. God, Louis. What am I going to do?" I ran my hand through my curls, feeling the sweat I had already created. Louis sighed, once agin.
"I don't know how to help you on this one. You have to figure it out yourself. But all I know is, you can't give up on Kennedy."
Then the line went dead.
The arsehole hung up one me, but he was completely right. No matter what happens, I can't give up on Kennedy.
