The story starts in Ozpin's office from "It's a Brawl in the Family."

Qrow: And pray tell who would be our guardian?

Ozpin: Currently, I believe there are two candidates here.

Ozpin began, as he flashed an image of Pyrrha and Matt.

Qrow: These two?! Ozpin you can't be serious! They're just kids!

Ozpin: And both have more potential than all the students combined in this academy.

Ironwood: I understand that Miss Nikos has much potential, but what of this boy? So far, I've only seen him keep up with Qrow in a fight.

Ozpin: I believe I have yet to reveal Mr. Aidan's capabilities. Like Miss Rose, he also possesses the Silver Eyes.

Those words got Ironwood and Qrow's full attention.

Qrow: Hang on, this kid has the eyes too?!

Ozpin: Yes, in fact, he also managed to master it.

 Ozpin said, before showing them a scene from Volume 1, in which Matt threw a silver constructed shuriken at a bullhead.

Ironwood: He... managed to gain access to the power of the Silver Eyes?

Ironwood exclaimed in shock.

Ozpin: Indeed, not even Mrs Rose could have done much compared to this.

Ozpin said with a tone of hidden guilt.

Qrow: Is this all?

Ozpin: ...

Qrow: Is this the ONLY reason you enrolled him in Beacon? 

Qrow: Just because he has the eyes?! 

Qrow: This is one of your stupidest ideas Oz! Just like how you decided to send Summer on that suicide missio-!

Glynda: QROW!

Qrow: Tch!

The room fell silent as Qrow turned away and took a long swig from his flask. Ironwood gestured for Ozpin to continue.

Ozpin: Other than his unique skill over the Silver Eyes, his semblance is also another potential key factor to this war.

Ironwood: His Semblance?

Ozpin: Yes, you see, he has a very unique Semblance. One that is not normal by any means.

Ironwood: And what IS his Semblance that makes you think he can help us in this war?

Ozpin: ... I think it's better if you see it for yourself. 

Ozpin said, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.

Ozpin: By the way General, do you have what I have requested?

Ironwood: They're on their way, but I have to ask. What in the world are you planning with that many high leveled Grimm?

Ozpin: Hhm, you'll see.

Ozpin said, his eyes gleaming with a mysterious light.

As the meeting adjourned, Qrow couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. 

He knew that Ozpin had a habit of keeping secrets, and he feared that this latest decision would come back to haunt them all. But for now, there was nothing he could do but wait and watch.
