Days Before Past (Unfinished)

Chapter 2.1

When I eat outside, I have this habit of writing thing to a table napkin while waiting for out food, I guess it's somewhat a way of releasing few of my thoughts. But I never really took great deal out of it since all I write at that napkin is just rumbling thoughts and it's something hard to understand even myself, there was even a time I wrote the color of my undies out of nowhere, it's some habit that now I subconsciously does.

The last week of summer break, Nikki and I decided on getting our schedule at the same time and go to a restaurant she discovered lately after going to University. On the way out of university we bumped into Dale again with his friends, after that day I never talked to him so it was surprising that he didn't approach me and just walked past me, I guess he really meant it when we agreed with each other to start over.

We headed to the restaurant and another unexpected thing happened, it was Lucas, Nikki's Ex-boyfriend, well it wasn't really awkward since they ended in good terms, they seem casual to each other like simple acquaintances and the only awkward was that he was with his friend that I don't know but other than that, how nice it is to have I fine conversation with a person you share your memories with. Lucas and his friend was already leaving the restaurant when we entered so it was a short conversation but I see no sign of Nikki being flustered seeing her Ex, I hope I get to do that someday. The restaurant has a pretty nice ambiance and a great menu so we enjoyed our time there, but it took quite a while before we received our order since it was crowded there, I guess it makes sense that that place was a hotspot. And while waiting, of course I unconsciously wrote to a table napkin again, this time I wrote "Don't lose hope, the sky won't fall, please just listen 'cause I'll be calling, stay with me just one more moment" it was a line from my favorite song and I just wrote it out of nowhere. Nikki always makes fun of me because of that habit, she snatched the pen and the napkin off my hands and added something there but she didn't show it to me. I tried taking the napkin from her but our order already came so I just didn't mind since it's just probably a lame joke she added on those lines. When we finished eating, I got to the washroom first and Nikki told me that she'll just wait for me at her car at the parking area, I didn't know she left the napkin at our table back then.

After washing I headed out of the restaurant, on my way out I bumped into Lucas' friend entering back the place, I was surprised that Lucas' friend was actually attractive, I haven't notice it earlier when we first bumped with them since I was focused on Nikki and Lucas and it was also too awkward talking to him. He has a bit tanned skin tone and a bit slender body but a really light brown-ish hair color, I said "Hi!" to him and asked why he came back unsettled, he said "Oh, I lost something so I was looking if I dropped it here somewhere", he was kind of an approachable guy so I tried offering him help but I remembered Nikki waiting outside and we were supposed to go somewhere.

I just wished him luck finding it and headed outside to the parking lot. That night Nikki brought me to a Mall saying that she needs help buying new clothes, so I also bought for myself while at it. We got home late as of the hectic traffic and because of tiredness today served me I immediately fell asleep as I lie down my bed.

I woke up at 9 AM feeling tired already, I had a 10 hour sleep but I still feel dissatisfied. When I checked my phone I received a message from an unknown number saying only "Hi!" it's weird 'cause the number isn't saved to my phone so I wonder who it was. I left it for now since I'm not sure who it's from, and prepared my drafts for my classes this Semester. Then after lunch I received another message from that number, "left me on read?" then added "thought u wanna make friends" I got more curious since I have no idea what this sender is talking about, then I thought it was Dale again and sent a trap to catch him. I asked, "so this the new start u mean?" but it got weird because this unknown sender don't have idea what I just asked him, so I knew it's not Dale since Dale is many things but he will never deny if he will make another move. Then I thought of asking Nikki if set me up on a blind date again, but she said she doesn't have any friends who has that number, so I got more curious about this unknown number, then I got another message from that number, "so u watched Clouds? Is it good?" it's surprising how he knew I watch that movie, I replied, "who is this?" then I got a reply, "I finally got ur attention", "I saw the line u wrote on the tissue" he added. I remembered that I wrote a movie song line on a tissue yesterday, but I don't don't have any idea how this person got my number, so I kept talking to him until I know how he got my number. While talking to him I realized that this unknown sender has a way of keeping a conversation, so I slowly got comfortable with him, in the middle of our conversation he told me that I really somehow sound like I need friends, I got weirded out again by what he said ...
