Chapter three: toby
Luke removed his hands from his face and sat up. It was the third time he felt like he was being watched. He knew it was a normal thing to feel, but it was different. He could feel the presence of another person. There was someone out there. He knew there was someone out there. He just didn't know where they were hiding. He closed the window tightly and locked it, not wanting to have to be paranoid about his watcher while he was already worked up about his almost date with Ashton. Ashton. He'd. Just moved in. Maybe he was just being friendly? Perhaps he had no interest in Luke at all. Perhaps he did simply want to be shown around. Luke slapped his forehead.
"You idiot!" He shouted at himself "of course he doesn't like you!" He buried his face in his pillow and screamed into it with all of his might. Why couldn't he be perfect? He took his fave out of the pillow and took deep breaths. Of course he was perfect. He looked great in purple, and had a cute butt. There was no way he wasn't perfect and if Ashton didn't see that then it was his loss. Luke tried to uplift himself. It was rather hopeless.
About an hour later, there was a knock at the door, causing Molly to erupt into a fit of barks. Luke shushed her and opened the door to reveal Ashton clad in black skinny jeans and a rolling stones shirt. To say he looked hot was an understatement.
"Hi" Luke said shyly. Ashton smiled, revealing possibly the most adorable dimple ever.
"Hey." He replied. Luke exited the house, locking the door behind him.
"I was thinking I could just show you a bit of down town and maybe we could catch a movie?" Luke suggested, toying with the hem of his too long shirt. Ashton nodded.
"Okay. That sounds cool" he said with a smile. Luke lead the way into town, talking about how he was glad it was summer and asking how Ashton liked their little town. Ashton replied that he liked the change in scenery. As they got into the more central part of town, Luke began listing the small places as they passed them. Ashton stopped him after a moment.
"How about you show me your favorite place yeah?" He asked. Luke smiled and took Ashton's hand, leading him to a small rundown building.
"What's this?" Ashton asked softly. Luke didn't reply, he instead lead Ashton inside. It was a small record store, nearly empty aside from the man who worked the counter.
"Hello, Toby!" Luke chirped happily.
"Afternoon, Luke. New friend you got there?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows. Luke blushed.
"This is Ashton. He just moved into the neighborhood" Luke replied.
"Well then, welcome to the neighborhood, Ashton. Any friend of Lukey's here is a friend of mine. Pick out any record on the house" Toby said politely. Ashton's jaw dropped
"Really?" Any record? For free?" He exclaimed. Toby laughed a bit and nodded.
"Yeah really. Go ahead and browse around. Ashton was glad he'd chosen Luke to show him around town.
