The atmosphere of the place was dead. The soil was powder… like sand, only dark in complexion. Grasses dominated the scenery, shaking fiercely as the storm began to form; It was a black and menacing mass. Churning turmoil.

Strings of thin hair lashed at her face as she gawked from a ways off. It came out of nowhere. The sky had been perfectly blue only a moment ago. There was no warning. Her eyebrows turned inwards, intense with concentration and she forced herself to watch. Strength was of essence. With wild eyes, she held her ground. It tumbled towards her, swallowing everything. The horrible reality of it all kept her rooted on unsteady, buckling knees... she hadn’t wanted to show such obvious signs of fear. The girl watched with a sense of terror. So drained of dignity now, she was unable to pull away.

It was a crazed animal with a rage in its veins, a fury in its heart.

A flash bang of lightning,

to light the meadow on fire.

Hanna held steady as it enveloped everything, lashing against the wind, against the rain. A battle of the elements taking place before her very dark brown eyes.

The slightest movement snatched them away.

Hanna Roy was not alone. She had not wanted to gasp, though by the way her hands shot to her lips, she knew she had. She saw someone. Someone was there!

The silhouette continued stumbling towards the storm. An oddly shaped blob.

Her bangs kept slapping against her forehead, shifting about while she watched it move. Very slowly; her hands begin to sink from her face… her stomach flipped over… becoming mixed. It was some sort of debris. It had to be.

A tremor ran through the earth beneath her feet as the storm approached. The shape was enveloped violently. Sounds like thunder roaring past.

It took a second to hear the scream.

Sick epiphany.

Hanna’s vision wavered… falling in and out of focus. Those pathetic tears began to form, drowning her water line. Her whimpers were small insignificant sounds against the all-powerful rumbling. She hobbled forward, stumbled back. She staggered, she fell, and was suddenly very stiff. Hanna dragged a hand up to her lips, the other clamped tightly to her own shirt. Trying to get to her heart, probably.

The black ribbons in her hair lashed at her face hard with the gaining wind. Points of impact, stinging like wounds from a whip. She felt a hand on her back, and looked up. There was a faceless figure radiating a black aura. It seemed to smile.

The storm was stirring.
