*Percy Jackson raced through the woods, dodging trees and leaping over brush. The noise of battle surrounded Percy, filling his ears, the sounds of metal clanging and the shouts of people fighting, the grunts and the yelps of pain. Percy dodged under a sword of a son of Ares and slammed the hilt of his sword into his helm. His eyes rolled into his head and he crumpled into the dirt. Three arrows sent at Percy by the sons of Apollo thudded into the ground around Percy and he jumped over a fourth. "Time to use the presents Connor gave me." Percy cut the straps of the two small sacks he had tied to his breastplate, and then he threw aside his sword. An arrow flew through the plume of his helmet and he dove behind a tree. He reached into the bags and withdrew the "presents". Connor Stoll had given him two bombs created by him and his brother. They weren't deadly bombs. They released a gas that incapacitated whoever inhaled it. He pulled a lighter out of his pocket and lit the bombs, courtesy of the Stoll brothers, and checked from around the tree. Two arrows thunked into the tree right next to his head. "Are they trying to kill me?" Percy wondered. He checked again to see the archers positions. Two were hiding in the tree tops, two others were taking cover behind trees. He tossed one at a tree and both archers instantly ducked behind trees, but the grenade bounced off of a tree and the grenade rolled and landed at the feet of the two archers. Percy kept the second in his hand for a few seconds before throwing it, so it would go off in the air. The bomb on the ground went off, firing a wide cloud of gas within seconds, enveloping the two archers taking cover behind the trees. They both attempted to run, before they started choking and they both collapsed into the dirt, unconscious. The second bomb went off in the air and the gas covered the two archers before gravity took the bomb to the ground but the gas had already been inhaled by the remaining archers. They both gasped and squirmed for a second, before one slumped forward and lay strewn among the branches and the second archer fell from the tree and hit the ground. Percy winced when he struck the ground and he ran to the camper. He kneeled and checked him. He was alive, but he was knocked out. No way to tell if he was okay yet. Percy jumped over his fallen opponents and kept running. He reached into his pocket. Riptide wasn't back yet. Usually it was by now. That wasn't normal. But Percy kept running. "I need to get the flag." He jumped over a low hanging branch and finally ran into the creek. He waded knee deep into the water. The flag was on the opposite side of the creek. He was almost there. But as soon as his feet touched the pebbles, as soon as he stepped out of . the water, an invisible force grabbed him. He was lifted upside down and he shouted. His helmet fell and dropped into the rocks and rolled into the water. Percy was shook back and forth in the hair. "What the h-" He got out before he was slammed into a tree full force. "Hnnh!" A shout escaped his lips, then he was slammed into the ground. He staggered to his feet and reached into his pocket. Riptide was back. He whipped out the pen and uncapped it, drawing his blade. He swiveled around, searching for what was there. Nothing happened. He turned around, and around and around. There was nothing. "What happened? Maybe it was just some magical defense. But I've never seen a defense like that." Then a raspy voice echoed in his ears. "Percy Jackson." He swung his sword, expecting something to be behind him. But nothing was there. "What is happening?" Percy said out loud. "Percy Jackson!" The voice screamed. The sound was so high pitched Percy was forced to drop his sword and cover his ears. "Aah!" Percy shouted, covering his ears. He dropped down and grabbed his sword when a flash of light surrounded Percy. He covered his eyes with one arm and he swung blindly with his sword with his free arm. There was still nothing. Percy backed away, then when the light had finally died away, he looked. A boy lay on the ground. "Who is that? What is going on here?" Percy's thoughts were moving at a million miles an hour. He knelt over the stranger. He looked at his face and felt at his neck, checking for a pulse. He had black hair, cracked glasses and although mostly hidden by his hair, he had some kind of scar on his forehead. Suddenly the boys eyes flew open. He grabbed Percy's wrist out of panic, then planted his feet on Percy's chest and used all the strength in his legs and kicked him to the ground. The boy held up some stick. Percy quickly stood. "He must have got that stick out of the creek. What's he gonna do with a stick?" He held his hand out. "Hey-" He started before the boy screamed something and a ball of light shot from the stick and struck Percy's chest. He flew back and slammed into the ground. "What is happening!?" Percy screamed, confused, as he quickly jumped back to his feet. He held his sword out and faced his opponent.
