Sallow Bistro, Springfield, Ohio

Honor was passing through Springfield, Ohio. He had run away from his foster home and dropped out of high school. He hadn't gotten his inheritance since he wasn't 18 but was off one year. Honor was walking from Montana to NYC. He had heard it was a haven for shifters because there were so many.

He stayed in Springfield longer than any other town on this country-wide hike. He liked how perfect and hallmark this town was. He also liked the Simpsons and that it shared the town name in the cartoon.

He ate at the Bistro as he had been living off gas station snacks for weeks. He had stolen and pawned some of the things from his foster home before he left to pawn them. He treated himself to Lobster Bisque and sweet potato fries as it was his birthday, but he wasn't alone.

There was a child's birthday party going on. As he sat down, it took a minute for him to catch a scent. When he had his eyes widened, he couldn't tell if it was true. He caught the scent of his brother, Derek. He didn't care if his food had just arrived or if it would get cold. He rushed around the Bistro, trying to catch the scent.

"Mister! You smell like an Apple Tree!" Honor heard and looked around to see who it was. It was a tiny human that he noticed when he was tugging at the leg of his jeans.

"Shoot, Jason, what have I told you about talking to strangers," A woman got out of her seat. Everyone wore party hats except for the boy because he couldn't keep it on. He only looked to be about 4.

"Elias?" This boy smelled just like Derek. Honor couldn't process what he was seeing in front of him. The mother's face grew concerned while she grabbed the boy, putting him back in his seat.

"How do you know my son's birth name?" She asked as Honor backed up.

"Derek... My brother, he is dead... that boy is the only thing left of him... I am the only survivor of the fire that killed my family," He said, and the lady's face softened from accusatory and defensive to concern and worry.

"We have had this boy for a year now. He was dropped off by who the social workers thought was his father," The lady said, but Honor shook his head.
