Chapter 3: Healing and Breaking

Pain everywhere, absolute agony. The table I'm laying on is marble. People have been attending to me for the last three days or so. What happened with the Sy? Ivy must have been telling the truth. Great! Nothing from Kali. It could not be her. I could be going crazy! But Ivy's voice, her hair, her face, Everything resembles Kali. I worked in the Great Library for 7 years and yet I didn't know about Sy until Volcan. I think Octavia came in to yell at me but I couldn't really see her. I only hear yelling, beside the ringing in my ears. I couldn't even yell back but my jaw was too burned to speak. But even though I couldn't talk, I could still manage to make an angry noise directed at Octavia. She looks very angry, there is a red mark in the shape of a hand on her face.

A few hours? Days? Later, I woke up again. I struggle to sit up, though a hand on my back helps me up. My hand goes up to my face, it stings. But it's not as bad as I thought it would be. My vision is still blurry but I can kind of see.
"Are you feeling a little better?" Male voice, Chad.
I quickly grab his arm, pulling him closer and wrapping my legs around him. I nudge my nose into his shoulder and I look around to see he was the only other person in the room. I look up at him, his face looks more distorted than the last time I saw him. His face was burnt and had more scars riddled along it. I put one of my hands up to his face and lightly trace his scars. He looks at me with sweetness in his eyes...I realize his eyes remind me of someone I used to know. He looks so much like Clovis, I never got to apologize to him when I left. I would give anything to see Clovis again, but I love him too. Chad looks around like he heard something. When he looks back at me his eyes are different, more tired and stressed, like Clovis's eyes.
" I have to go Xia, I'll come visit you later" He says, His voice was more sad and scared than before when his voice sounded happier and sweeter.
I unwrap my legs from around his waist and let go of his arm as he gently takes his arm off my back slowly lowering me back down so I'm on my back again. After he's gone I sit in silence for a while then I hear the door open again, It's Octavia. She looks pissed, Ivy's probably fighting with her again.
" Xia, you're a piece of shit" Octavia says then walks out of the room.
I make confused noises at her and just silently wonder what the hell that was for.

Ivy

As we were on the ship coming back to the capital. Octavia is acting like I'm in the wrong and I should be not mad at her for the Sy. Xia looked like death when i saw her and for all I know she is. I'm in the corner, it's dark and the metal looks like a mirror. A shadow appears in the metal, a girl appears she has pitch back hair is writhed with sweat and sand but her frantic red and green eyes betrayed her fear. She is mouthing something... no yelling 'find me, please'. She starts screaming and sobbing, I can hear her now.
"Ivy, what's wrong?" Octavia walks up behind me.
I don't say anything, a mixture of shock at what just happened with the girl and the Sy.
Octavia quickly loses her patience and grabs my arms.
"Just because I didn't know Sy would do that, doesn't mean you should be mad at me." She says,
The ship's shaking, we're landing soon.
"You didn't know! It's your job to educate yourself for the good of your people. And when I told you it was dangerous, you Chose XIA!" I say
The door of the ship opens. I need a breath of air, but how am I going to get out of Octavia's grasp without getting charged with treason?
I lean forward and kiss her bottom lip, her lipstick tastes like Cherries. Uhh focus, i quickly swing around her and sprint toward the door. That girl had the same pendant as the red head. He seemed to know where I was from. Maybe I can get all that I had back. She had sand in her hair, I know exactly where to find sand. But the biggest question is how do I get there?
As I sprint through the sand, my lungs burn and sweat trails down my face. The sun has set by the time I finally stop. I collapse into the sand, burning like when I was last here. Why did Octavia do that? I feel like I've met Xia before because of the feeling in my gut when I was working on the collider. I trace the stars, one stands out. A bright blue light, it feels so close like I could reach out and hold it tight to my chest. It quickly was overshadowed by vibrant bright teal light to my right. That is not a star... I bolt straight, staring out at it. The ship... the loose pieces of metal buried in the sand. Something was buried in the sand, so I ran forward. A small piece of... I don't know, I brush it off. A serpent necklace containing a glowing blue liquid, glowed in my presents. It has another piece... it must be my ivy charm. As I quickly take my ivy off my neck, I wonder... the serpent has something that it needs to grip. I put the ivy in place, the blue starts to glow, taking over the ivy. Unlike with the collider it didn't turn my veins black, instead turning blue. I let out a scream and someone screamed with me. My vision goes dark, I lose feeling of my body.
Where the hell am I? My serpent is in my hands, I look up to the desert. I look around to find Clovis...he isn't here. I need to find him. I get to my feet
