To my dearest Madeline,

It has been 5 years since the murder of my mother, and it has been worrying. Mother has kept many secrets from me and Father, too many to list and too grim to tale. So I shall say to you one. I appear to have and older sister that lived in the attic, I checked up there and found a young woman, 5 years my senior, cowering in the far ends of the attic. She had dried blood on her eye lids, like she was crying blood. Father and I managed to get her out of the attic, but the moment she touched the grass, she fell dead. I have never known grief until that day.

Sincerely, Ronald
