Felix led me through the woods and into an opening where I saw the camp that they were talking about. Multiple cabins were in a room along with a building that I assumed was the mess hall.
Alongside the buildings, I saw multiple fighting areas where lost boys lined up to fight with weapons. Some used wooden swords, others used their bare fists.
Felix pointed at one of the fighting areas. "Line up over there. I'll teach you how to fight like a lost boy. Or girl."
I wrinkled my nose at him. I knew how to fight. Sort of. I learned some skill during P.E class. But I obliged and stepped into line behind a boy who was at least 6'4. I was going to get beaten up. The boys all looked back at me waiting in line and scoffed, but stopped when they saw Felix glare at them.
I watched the boys fight with the swords and flinched as they showed no mercy toward each other. They didn't stop until one of them yielded.
I leaned over to Felix. "What happened the last time someone didn't yield?"
"They died." Felix bluntly said before focusing his attention back on the fight. I shuddered, hoping that wasn't going to happen to me.
Finally, I was at the front of the line, and I looked at my opponent. Redhead, pretty skinny, but seemed as if he had a lot of experience with handling a sword. He looked at me as well and his eyes widened before he groaned.
"Why do I have to fight a girl? I could beat her up in a second." He looked at Felix annoyingly.
I glared at him, and he rolled his eyes at me.
"Hey," Felix sharply said. "If you think she's that easy of a target, use your hands to fight her."
The redhead scoffed and threw down his sword. He balled his hands into fists and waited for me to get prepared.
I groaned and rolled up my hands as well. I mean, might as well try my best while I'm at it.
He swung first, and I narrowly dodged it. While he was facing the other direction, I took the opportunity to punch him in the stomach, causing him to double over. I then put him in a headlock, but since he was stronger than me, he throw me to the ground, causing me to grunt out loud. He smiled, clearly proud of himself, but that cost him valuable time. I swung my legs under his, causing him to trip. I got back on my feet and straddled him, before smacking him in the face a couple times. When he realized he couldn't move from the position I kept him in, he yelled for mercy.
"I yield, I yield." I smirked and got off of him, brushing my baggy shorts off. The redhead stood up and backed away from me, intimidated. Finally, I had some respect.
I heard slow clapping from behind me, and when I turned around, it was that blasted curly blond with green eyes.
"Well done, Chloe," Pan raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know you had that in you."
I didn't either. I smiled forcefully. "Thanks."
Pan looked at Felix. "Felix, is it okay if I take Chloe and show her around camp and you stay here to supervise training?"
Felix nodded and Pan smiled. "Chloe and I should be back in a bit."
Pan started walking toward one of the bigger cabins and I followed him.
"Am I sharing a cabin with you?" I couldn't help but hear the disgust in my voice that I tried to cover.
Pan raised his eyebrows again. "Why, is that a bad thing?"
"No, no, not at all." I stuttered. He continued to walk in silence until we reached the cabin.
"Is this yours?" I asked. He nodded and opened the door.
I looked inside. The hut was pretty big, with two beds and a closet.
Pan pointed to the bed on the right. "That bed's the one I sleep in, but I'd be happy to share one with you." He smirked at me and I rolled my eyes before looking at my side of the room. The bed had a little treasure chest next to it, and I ventured closer, curious to know what was inside.
"Inside the treasure chest are some clothes you could wear." Pan looked at my oversized t- shirt gown and wrinkled his nose. "Unless you want to wear that."
I blushed, covering up my outfit in embarrassment. Without saying anything else, Pan walked out of the hut, leaving me with the clothes.
I waited until I knew he was gone and then started going through the treasure chest, seeing if anything was appropriate for me to wear. I ended up finding a corset with a lace patterns, a white ruffled shirt to go over the corset, a denim mini skirt, and combat boots. I could work with that.
Going behind the dresser, I made sure that nobody was looking or could see me change.
After I had finished with my outfit, I looked at myself through Pan's small mirror. Twirling around, I finally felt confident with myself. It's not like Mom and Paul ever got me nice things to wear around the house.
I came out of the hut, thinking I looked rather dashing. Pan was talking to one of the nearest lost boys, and I approached him with a smile and a tap on the shoulder.
He looked at me and I could swear his eyes widened a bit. But it was probably just my imagination. He cleared his throat. "What do you need, Chloe?"
"What should I do now?" I asked him. I had already finished training, I don't know what he wanted me to do with him.
"I was thinking about taking you to the underwater caves. There are some really cool things down there, plus you will get to meet the occasional mermaid."
I shook my head. Hah, mermaids. "Mermaids aren't real, Pan. Are you making this up?"
He raised his eyebrow. "You didn't think Neverland was real, yet here you are." He got me there.
"Sure, I guess. How are we going to get there?"
"Remember your flying experience earlier?" He grinned devilishly at me, grabbing my arm. Before I could protest, he had took out the magic golden dust once again and threw it over us, making us float.
I screamed before closing my eyes. "Put me down!"
"Just follow me, geez, girls are so fussy." Pan rolled his eyes and grabbed my hand. We zoomed forward, and I watched as the trees flew past us.
"Not so bad, is it?" Pan asked me from the front. I rolled my eyes.
"You are such a prick!" I yelled back, raising my voice from the wind.
He smiled and simply shook his head. "I know."
