Pan and I flew in the air, and I struggled to keep upright, flinging in different directions. He looked at me and rolled his eyes, before telling me what to do.
"Put your legs together and sort of act like you are swimming in midair. It's a bit tricky at first but you'll get the hang of it."
I tried to follow his very simple instructions, and slowly I got the hang of it. I smiled, and flew through multiple clouds, while Pan looked at me and rolled his eyes.
"We should be getting close to where the mermaids are now, so follow me!" He yelled at me and flew down towards land. I did the same, but not nearly as graceful.
We reached ground, and he swiftly landed on his feet, while I fell on the ground on my back.
I winced, rubbing my back and standing up. Pan pointed to a nearby glistening lake with the light reflecting on it. The tranquility almost made it seem too good to be true, too safe. Seemed like the perfect date for me. Date? I barely knew Pan, why was I thinking of dating?
Pan looked at me and smirked. "If you wanted my help, you could've just asked." I rolled my eyes at him. Real considerate.
He bent down and touched the water before fingering it slightly and rippling the surface of the water with his fingertips. I watched him slightly before noticing the ring with emeralds on his finger. A feeling of anger came up from inside of me. Who had given it to him, and why? I wanted to know. But then again, why was it any of my business? Pan can do what he does.
Suddenly, a girl with pink hair emerged from the water. She looked at us with emerald eyes, scales dazzling her cheekbones. She smiled at Pan with an enchanting beauty, but glared at me.
Pan grinned back at her as if he knew who she was. "Take me down to the bottom."
She smiled once again at him, before disappearing under the water.
I looked wearily at Pan. "What's going on?" I questioned him. Something seemed dangerous about this.
"You'll love it." He smirked at me again, before extending his hand for me to grab. I don't know why I was trusting him, he was the one who had kidnapped me in the first place. But nevertheless, I reached for his hand and waited.
The girl came up again and grabbed Pan's arm. I looked at him alarmed, but he was still calm. My eyes widened as he allowed her to drag him slowly underwater. I tried to let go of his hand, but couldn't. I struggled, trying to grab onto bits of grass from the outside of the pond, but eventually got dragged into the murky waters too.
Surrounded by the seaweed in the water, I looked around me, my eyes wide and my mouth swelled up with air. Little fish swam in groups around me, moving throughout my hair and around my legs. I panicked, thrashing for a second, before Pan grabbed my neck and shook his head. I instantly stiffened, but calmed down as we swam deeper and deeper.
The pink haired mermaid glared at me again before she swam closer and closer to the bottom of the lake before suddenly disappearing. I blinked. Pan swam after her, disappearing too. I waited for a moment, seeing if they would come back. They didn't. I was running out of air, I had no choice. Praying and praying, I crossed my toes and swam into the bed of the lake, hoping I would see them again.
